Transliteration:( Wa innaa 'alaaa an nuriyaka maa na'iduhum laqaadiroon )
"And indeed, We are Powerful to show you that which We are promising to them [130]."
This verse reassures the Prophet ﷺ that Allah has complete power to fulfill His promise—whether that be through punishment or reward—and if He wills, He can make that fulfillment visible to the Prophet in his lifetime.
However, the verse does not imply that the Prophet ﷺ would witness catastrophic punishments like:
Stones from the sky,
Physical deformation,
Or natural disasters,
as these forms of punishment were withheld by Allah’s decree during the Prophet’s presence, as affirmed in:
“And Allah is not to punish them while you are among them” (Surah Al-Anfal, 8:33).
Instead, the fulfillment of this verse occurred through:
Muslim victories over the disbelievers,
Rise of Islam, and
Humiliation of idolaters in the Prophet’s lifetime.
This verse is thus a reminder of Allah’s promise, power, and support, especially in the form of worldly triumph granted to the Prophet ﷺ and his followers.
