📖 Commentary of Verse 13 (Surah Al-Mursalat)

"And yet another blessing that you love is the help from Allah and a victory near at hand. So give good news to the believers."

✅ Additional Blessing [26]

  • In this verse, Allah Almighty mentions an additional blessing for the believers, which is the help from Allah and victory.

  • This refers to both worldly blessings and Hereafter rewards. Although the Hereafter holds greater significance, the worldly victory mentioned here serves as a precursor to the greater rewards to come. The blessings of divine support and victory in this world are presented to the believers as signs of Allah’s favor, motivating them to continue their righteous path.

✅ Victory and Conquests [27]

  • The mention of victory in this verse has specific historical and prophetic significance. It alludes to the victories achieved during the Caliphates of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique and Hazrat Umar Farooq (May Allah be pleased with them).

  • The conquests of Persia and Rome during the reign of Hazrat Umar and Hazrat Uthman (May Allah be pleased with them) are the victories foretold here. These were moments of great triumph for Islam and are seen as a fulfillment of the prophecy made in this verse.

  • This indicates that the rightful Caliphates and their conquests were pleasing to Allah and aligned with the divine plan, serving as a testament to the validity of their leadership and the fulfillment of the prophecy.

Please refer to Surah Saff ayat 11 which provides the complete commentary from verse 11 through 13.

(61:13) He will also grant you the other favour that you desire: help from Allah and a victory that will come soon.[18] Give glad tidings of this to the believers.

Ala-Maududi

(61:13) He will also grant you the other favour that you desire: help from Allah and a victory that will come soon.[18] Give glad tidings of this to the believers.

18. Although victory and success in the world is a great blessing of Allah, yet for the believer the thing of real importance is not this but the success of the Hereafter. That is why the gain of the worldly life has been mentioned as second and the result accruing in the Hereafter first.

(13) And [you will obtain] another [favor] that you love - victory from Allāh and an imminent conquest; and give good tidings to the believers.
