Surah As-Saff Ayat 13 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

26. Grant these bounties in the world besides the bounties of the Hereafter, although this county is before that. But because those ties are greater in splendour, they have been mentioned first.

27. In it there is a hint about the Caliphate of hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique and Hazrat Umar Farooq (May Allah be pleased with them).Because by this victory is meant the conquests of Persia and Rome and these victories were gained more during the reign of Hazrat Umar and Hazrat Uthman(May Allah be pleased with them). This tells us that those Caliphates are right and conquests during these were pleasing to Allah, whose prophecy is being given here.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah As-Saff verse 13 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Saff ayat 11 which provides the complete commentary from verse 11 through 13.

(61:13) He will also grant you the other favour that you desire: help from Allah and a victory that will come soon.[18] Give glad tidings of this to the believers.

Ala-Maududi

(61:13) He will also grant you the other favour that you desire: help from Allah and a victory that will come soon.[18] Give glad tidings of this to the believers.

18. Although victory and success in the world is a great blessing of Allah, yet for the believer the thing of real importance is not this but the success of the Hereafter. That is why the gain of the worldly life has been mentioned as second and the result accruing in the Hereafter first.
