Transliteration:( Qaala innee 'abdullaahi aataaniyal Kitaaba wa ja'alanee Nabiyyaa )
"The baby said, 'I am a servant of Allah; He has given me the Book and [49] made me a prophet.' [50]" (Kanzul Imaan Translation)
By “the Book”, Hazrat Isa (on whom be peace) refers to the Injeel.
This shows that he was aware of the divine book even before its actual revelation, just as our Holy Prophet ﷺ had knowledge of the Qur'anic laws prior to formal revelation.
It is worth noting that Hazrat Isa was formally granted prophethood at age thirty, so his declaration here signifies that his appointment as a messenger was predestined, even before the prophetic mission began.
This verse proves that Prophets are born with divine awareness and spiritual knowledge.
The Qur’an says:
“You did not know the Book before it, nor the details of the laws of the Religion.” (S42:V52)
This negates intellectual acquisition, not divine bestowal of knowledge.
Despite being a newborn, Hazrat Isa (on whom be peace) spoke eloquently about:
Tawheed (Oneness of Allah)
His role as a Prophet
Righteous conduct
This speech confirms the divinely gifted understanding and status of Prophets even at birth.
