📖 Commentary of Surah Maryam – Verse 97

"So We have certainly made this Qur'an easy [158] in your tongue, that you may give glad tidings to the God-fearing and warn thereby a contentious people [159]."

✅ [158] The Qur’an Made Accessible Through the Prophet ﷺ

This verse carries multiple meanings:

  • The Qur’an was revealed in Arabic, the Prophet’s ﷺ own language, making it naturally easy for him to recite and explain.

  • Its recitation and tajweed, along with its deep meanings, were made easy by Allah Himself—no teacher was needed for the Prophet ﷺ.

  • Though the Qur’an is heavenly, it reached earthly beings through the Prophet's ﷺ blessed tongue. Even disbelievers like Abu Jahl and Abu Lahab understood its literal meanings, but their disconnection from the Prophet ﷺ kept them misguided.

✅ [159] The Qur’an: A Medium, the Prophet ﷺ: The Giver

This teaches us that the true bearer of glad tidings and warnings is the Prophet ﷺ, while the Qur’an is the medium. One who separates the Qur’an from the Prophet ﷺ will neither develop true hope nor fear, the two foundational elements of faith.
