Transliteration:( Yaaa abati innee akhaafu ai yamassaka 'azaabum minar Rahmaani fatakoona lish Shaitaani waliyyaa )
"O my father! I fear that the torment of the Most Affectionate may reach you [76], and then you become the companion of the devil (Shaitaan)."
Hazrat Ibrahim (علیہ السلام) gently warned his uncle that failing to seek protection through him could lead to the punishment of Allah Almighty.
From this we learn that seeking refuge through the Prophets is a means of salvation from divine wrath.
It also shows that soft and respectful speech is permissible even when addressing an infidel parent, especially in the hope of guiding them.
The duty of the believer is to offer sincere guidance, while not forming close internal alliances with disbelievers.
🔹 The verse combines affection, fear of punishment, and the invitation to truth — all characteristic of the prophetic method of dawah.
