📖 Commentary of Surah Maryam – Verse 48

And I will distance myself from you and from what you invoke besides Allah [81], and I will invoke my Lord. Perhaps I will not be unsuccessful in invoking my Lord [82].

✅ [81] Clear Separation

  • Hazrat Ibrahim (علیہ السلام) openly distanced himself from idol worship and from those who practice it.

  • Two lessons:

    1. Hypocrisy is forbidden; one must be clear and open in faith.

    2. Keeping company with disbelievers is forbidden; Ibrahim severed ties with his infidel uncle.

✅ [82] True Worship Brings Success

  • Worshippers of idols are unfortunate, while worshippers of Allah are blessed.

  • True worship removes misfortune and brings good fortune.

  • No believer should consider themselves unfortunate, as faith and remembrance of Allah bring continual blessings and favorable destiny.
