The Summary/Theme of the Surah al-ma’idah

 A brief commentary of Chapter 5 of the Quran. It discusses food, hunting, the pledges made by the Jews and Christians, the afterlife, and the feast of Jesus.

Lessons Learned from  Surah al-ma’idah

  1. Honour your contracts and promises.  
  2. Islām is the perfect and complete religion.  
  3. Sometimes, when instructing people to do something that they may find difficult, explain yourself to them.  
  4. You will always continue to hear of various deceptions from the majority of Jews.  
  5. Mūsā عليه السلام had a very difficult task in handling the Banū Isrā’īl; one that he accomplished successfully. The Prophet ﷺ  acknowledged this also when he said, “May Allāh have mercy on Mūsā! Indeed he was caused much more difficulty than this, but he remained patient.” (Al-Bukhārī)  
  6. The rebels are to be administered severe punishment for their crimes.  
  7. Whoever Allāh wishes to lead astray, even a Prophet cannot help them in any way. Therefore, we should always ask Allāh for guidance and steadfastness. 
  8. The disbelievers on the Day of Judgment will try their utmost to free themselves from the punishment of Jahannam, all in vain.[4]  
  9. Some people are so evil at heart, that clear revelation from Allāh drives them further in their mischief and disbelief, instead of bringing them closer.
  10. Despite all the blasphemy of the Jews, Allāh is still willing to forgive them if they turn to Him in sincere repentance.  
  11. Fulfil your oaths.  
  12. Shayṭān tries creating disunity and enmity between Muslims through sins: especially intoxicants and gambling, together with causing neglect in remembering Allāh.  
  13. Despite being Forgiving and Merciful, Allāh is also severe in punishment. 

Recitation benefits of surah al-ma’idah

  1. Recite Ayah No.54 of Surat Al Maidah on sweet for love between family.
  2. Daily recitation of Surat Maidah is to seek Forgiveness from ALLAH.
  3. Recite Ayah 114 of Surah Al Maidah, 11 times every hour. Recite it with Durood Sharif 11 times in the beginning and in the end. Then blow toward the sky, praying in mind for Rizq. If you do this amal with full concentration regularly, you will be showered with Rizq.
  4. Recites Surah Maidah on every Thursday, you would remain safe from wrong doing and would not associate any partner with Allah.
  5. Whoever recites this surat Maidah Allah adds ten good deeds and conceals ten evil deeds and his position near Allah goes up ten times more than what he deserves.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

۞يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَّخِذُواْ ٱلۡيَهُودَ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰٓ أَوۡلِيَآءَۘ بَعۡضُهُمۡ أَوۡلِيَآءُ بَعۡضٖۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُم مِّنكُمۡ فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنۡهُمۡۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
 Transliteration:( Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tattakhizul Yahooda wan nasaaraaa awliyaaa'; ba'duhum awliyaaa'u ba'd; wa mai yatawallahum minkum fa innahoo minhum; innal laaha laa yahdil qawmaz zaalimeen )

51. O you who believe! Do not take the Yahud and Nasara as friends (164). They are friends of each other among themselves (165). And whoso of you makes them his friends, then he is one of them. Indeed, Allah does not guide people that are unjust (166).

فَتَرَى ٱلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٞ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِيهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ نَخۡشَىٰٓ أَن تُصِيبَنَا دَآئِرَةٞۚ فَعَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَأۡتِيَ بِٱلۡفَتۡحِ أَوۡ أَمۡرٖ مِّنۡ عِندِهِۦ فَيُصۡبِحُواْ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَسَرُّواْ فِيٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ نَٰدِمِينَ
 Transliteration:( Fataral lazeena fee quloobihim maraduny yusaari'oona feehim yaqooloona nakhshaaa an tuseebanaa daaa'irah; fa'asallaahu ai yaatiya bilfathi aw amrim min 'indihee fa yusbihoo 'alaa maaa asarroo feee anfusihim naadimeen )

52. You will come across such people who have a disease in their hearts and they run towards the Yahud and Nasara saying: "We fear lest a misfortune befall (167), us". Due to it, Allah may bring a victory soon or a Commandment from Himself (168). Then they will be regretful of what they had concealed in their hearts (169).

 Transliteration:( Wa yaqoolul lazeena aamanooo ahaaa'ulaaa'il lazeena aqsamoo billaahi jahda aimaanihim innahum lama'akum; habitat a'maaluhum fa asbahoo khaasireen )

53. And the believers say: "Are they the same who swore by Allah in their oaths with full strength that they were with you? Their deeds were destroyed (170), and they were left in loss.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَن يَرۡتَدَّ مِنكُمۡ عَن دِينِهِۦ فَسَوۡفَ يَأۡتِي ٱللَّهُ بِقَوۡمٖ يُحِبُّهُمۡ وَيُحِبُّونَهُۥٓ أَذِلَّةٍ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ أَعِزَّةٍ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ يُجَٰهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا يَخَافُونَ لَوۡمَةَ لَآئِمٖۚ ذَٰلِكَ فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ يُؤۡتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ
 Transliteration:( Yaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo mai yartadda minkum 'an deenihee fasawfa ya'tillaahu biqawminy yuhibbuhum wa yuhibboonahoo azillatin 'alal mu'mineena a'izzatin 'alal kaafireena yujaahidoona fee sabeelil laahi wa laa yakhaafoona lawmata laaa'im; zaalika fadlul laahi yu'teehi mai yashaaa'; wallaahu Waasi'un 'Aleem )

54. O you who believe! Whoso of you will deviate from your religion (171), then soon Allah shall bring such people (172), who will be dear to Allah, and Allah will be dear to them. They will be humble towards the Muslims and stern towards the infidels. They fight in the way of Allah and will not fear the reproach of one who reproaches (173). This is the bounty of Allah, which He gives to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing.

55. Only Allah is your friend (174) and His Messenger and the believers, that they establish Prayer and pay Zakat and bow down before Allah(175).

 Transliteration:( Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tattakhizul lazeenat takhazoo deenakum huzuwanw wa la'ibam minal lazeena ootul Kitaaba min qablikum walkuffaara awliyaaa'; wattaqul laaha in kuntum muu'mineen )

57. O you who believe! Do not take any of them as your friend who has made a mockery of your religion and a plaything. Those who were given the Book before (177), you and the infidels (178). And remain fearing Allah, if you believe.

58. And when you call the people for Prayer (179), they make a mockery and a plaything of it. That is because they are wholly unwise people (180).

59. Please declare, O People of the Book, which of our acts look bad to you? Only this that we believe in Allah and what has been sent down to us and what was revealed before us. And most of you surely are defiantly disobedient (181),

 Transliteration:( Qul hal unabbi'ukum bisharrim min zaalika masoobatan 'indal laah; malla'ana hul laahu wa ghadiba 'alaihi wa ja'ala minhumul qiradata wal khanaazeera wa 'abadat Taaghoot; ulaaa'ika sharrum makaananw wa adallu 'an Sawaaa'is Sabeel )

60. Please declare: "Shall I inform you about those who are in a worse condition (182), with Allah than that and those who have been cursed by Allah? On them is His Wrath, that He made some of them monkeys and pigs and worshippers of Taghat (Shaitaan) (183). Those are worse in position and further astray from the Right Path".
