15. These are our people who have taken gods besides Him. Why do they not bring forward a clear authority for them? Then who is more unjust than one who fabricates a lie against Allah [22]? (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(15) These, our people, have taken besides Him deities. Why do they not bring for [worship of] them a clear evidence? And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allāh a lie?" (Saheen International Translation)

📖 Commentary of Surah Al-Kahf – Verse 15

"These are our people who have taken gods besides Him. Why do they not bring forward a clear authority for them? Then who is more unjust than one who fabricates a lie against Allah [22]?"

✅ [22] The Condemnation of False Worship

After narrating their stance before Emperor Daqyanus, the Companions of the Cave began discussing the condition of their people among themselves.

They said:

  • "These people of ours have taken false gods besides Allah."
They questioned the validity of such worship, asking, "Where is the proof or divine authority for this?"

  • This rhetorical question challenges the idolaters: If there is no revealed proof, then your worship is based on falsehood.

They concluded with a powerful statement:
"Who can be more unjust than the one who invents a lie against Allah?"
Meaning, attributing partners to Allah without proof is the gravest injustice and fabrication.

This verse underscores the severity of shirk (polytheism) and the righteous indignation of those who uphold pure monotheism.
