Transliteration:( Maaa ash hattuhum khalqas samaawaati wal ardi wa laa khalqa anfusihim wa maa kuntu muttakhizal mudilleena 'adudaa )
"I did not make them witnesses to the creation of the heavens and the earth, nor to their own creation [122], and I do not take the misleaders as helpers [123]." (Kanzul Imaan Translation)
This means that Iblis and his progeny were not present or called upon during the creation of the heavens, the earth, or mankind. Hence, they have no right or basis to claim partnership or association in Allah’s act of creation.
From this emerge two important points:
Allah is Free of Need for Partners:
Allah Almighty has no weakness or need that would compel Him to take any partner. He Himself declares:
"Who has not taken Him as a son and no one is a partner in His kingdom" (S17:V111).
Control of the World is Given to the Beloved Servants:
Allah entrusts the management of worldly affairs to His beloved servants — angels, Prophets, and Saints — to demonstrate their special status. In contrast, His cursed and misguided servants (such as Iblis and those who lead others astray) are not given any share in creation or control. Thus, the verse emphasizes that misleaders are not helpers to Allah.
51. They did not witness the creation of the heavens and the earth nor their own creation, nor did I take those who mislead as `Adudan.
Allah says: `These whom you take as helpers instead of Me are creatures just like you. They do not possess anything and did not witness the creation of heaven and earth, because they did not exist at that time.’ Allah says, `I am the One Who independently and exclusively creates and controls all things, and I have no partner, associate or advisor in that.’ As Allah says:
(Say: “Call upon those you claim besides Allah, they possess not even a speck of dust in the heavens or on the earth, nor have they any share in either, nor is there for Him any assistant among them. Intercession with Him profits not except for him whom He permits.) ﴿34:22-23﴾ Similarly Allah says here:
(nor did I take those who mislead as `Adudan.) Malik said: “Assistants.”
(18:51) I did not call them to witness the creation of the heavens and the earth, nor in their own creation.[49] I do not seek the aid of those who lead people astray.
49. This thing has been asserted to impress on the disbelievers that the satans were not entitled to their submission and worship, for they had no share at all in the creation of the heavens and the earth, nay, they themselves were the creation of Allah: therefore Allah alone was worthy of worship.
