📖 Commentary of Surah Al-Kahf – Verse 75

"He said, 'Did I not tell you [167] that you would not be able to stay with me?' [168]"

✅ [167] Stronger Reproach Indicated by Wording

In this instance, Hazrat Khizr (on whom be peace) used the phrase “Did I not tell you…”, adding emphasis and directness, which was not present in the earlier verse (18:72).

This subtle change in wording indicates that Hazrat Khizr’s tone was firmer, showing greater displeasure at Hazrat Musa’s repeated questioning, especially after a second clear violation of their agreement.

✅ [168] A Prophet Under Another Prophet’s Guidance

This entire event demonstrates that a law-giving Prophet, like Hazrat Musa (on whom be peace)—to whom a divine book was revealed—can still become a disciple or student of another Prophet, as he did with Hazrat Khizr (on whom be peace).

This serves as a clear precedent for when Hazrat Isa (on whom be peace) will return to earth before Qiyamah. At that time, though he is a Prophet, he will follow the Shariah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, without it diminishing his prophetic status.

Thus, it is invalid for any group—such as the Qadyanis—to argue that one Prophet cannot follow another. Even when Mosaic law had not been abrogated, Hazrat Musa submitted to Hazrat Khizr's guidance, whose knowledge was not based on formal scripture but on direct divine inspiration.

Likewise, Hazrat Isa's return will not be as a new law-giver, but as one upholding and practicing the final Shariah, reinforcing the universality and finality of Prophethood in Islam.
