📖 Commentary of Surah Taha – Verse 81

Eat what We provide you of pure things and exceed not [108] therein that My anger may descend on you, and he on whom My anger descends falls down. [109]

✅ [108] Do Not Exceed the Limits

The command "exceed not" refers to several instructions:

  • Do not hoard the Manna and Salwa for the next day.

  • Do not commit sins after enjoying these Divine blessings.

  • Do not quarrel or fight amongst yourselves.

This guidance was given to preserve gratitude, discipline, and unity after being blessed with heavenly provisions.

✅ [109] The Consequence of Divine Anger

Whoever is overtaken by Allah’s anger:

  • Faces severe punishment in Hell,

  • Or suffers disgrace in this world,

  • And falls from the lofty position of Divine nearness into the depths of distance and rejection.

Thus, the verse warns against ingratitude and excess, which lead to spiritual ruin.
