The summary/Yunus of the Surah Yunus:

This Surah contains 109 verses, and its main topics are monotheism, the authenticity of the Qur'an, answers to those who deny revelation, inspiring fear in the unbelievers, revealing the glory and magnitude of creation and of the Creator, and the irreversibility of the world.

Lesson learned from  Surah Yunus:

  1. There are numerous signs of Allāh within His creation.
  2. Whatever evil we do, the adverse effects of it will always ultimately affect us.
  3. Allāh invites everyone to Jannah; every individual can enter Jannah. All they have to do is have Īmān and do good.
  4. Those who do good in this world will be given good in return, and extra.
  5. True happiness should be a result of the Grace of Allāh and His Mercy.
  6. Allāh knows everything, and He is always watching us.
  7. If Allāh wishes misfortune for you, there is no one that can remove that from you except Him alone, and if He wishes good for you, no one can stop His Grace.

Recitation   Benefits of  Surah Yunus:

  1. Out of various benefits of Sura Yunos,1 is If you recites this surah once in two or three months would have no fear of going into the camp of those who live in ignorance (infidels); and Allah would raise him on the day of judgement in the group of the favourites of Allah.
  2. Whoso recites this surat h would get the reward mentioned in its verse 26 :
  3. “For those who do good is the best reward and more. Neither darkness nor ignominy shall cover their faces. They are the dwellers of the garden where they will abide for ever.”
  4. Whoever recites Surat Yunus his reward would be equal to the number of the persons who have testified Allah.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

الٓرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
 Transliteration:( Alif-Laaam-Raa; tilka Aayaatul Kitaabil Hakeem )

1.Alif- Lam- Ra. These are the verses of the Book of Wisdom (1).

 Transliteration:( 'A kaana linnaasi 'ajaaban 'an 'awhainaaa 'ilaa rajulin minhum 'an anzirin naasa wa bashshiril lazeena 'aamanoo 'anna lahum qadama sidqin 'inda Rabbihim; qaalal kaafiroona 'inna haazaa la saahirun mubeen )

2. Have the people wondered (2), that We revealed to a man among them to warn (3), the people, and give glad-tidings to the believers, that they have the position of truth (4). with their Lord? The infidels said: Surely, he is a manifest sorcerer (5).

إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٖ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِۖ يُدَبِّرُ ٱلۡأَمۡرَۖ مَا مِن شَفِيعٍ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ إِذۡنِهِۦۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمۡ فَٱعۡبُدُوهُۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
 Transliteration:( Inna Rabbakumul laahul lazee khalaqas samaawaati wal arda fee sittati aiyaamin thummas tawaa 'alal 'Arshi yudabbirul amra maa min shafee'in illaa min ba'di iznih; zalikumul laahu Rabbukum fa'budooh; afalaa tazakkaroon )

3. No doubt, your Lord is Allah Who made the heavens (6), and the earth in six days(7), then established Himself on the Throne, befitting to His Dignity. He plans. the work. There is no intercessor, but after His leave (10). This is Allah your Lord. Then worship Him. Do you then not ponder (112).

إِلَيۡهِ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ جَمِيعٗاۖ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقًّاۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَبۡدَؤُاْ ٱلۡخَلۡقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥ لِيَجۡزِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَهُمۡ شَرَابٞ مِّنۡ حَمِيمٖ وَعَذَابٌ أَلِيمُۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡفُرُونَ
 Transliteration:( Ilaihi marji'ukum jamee 'anw wa'dal laahi haqqaa; innahoo yabda'ul khalqa thumma yu'eeduhoo liyajziyal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati bilqist; wallazeena kafaroo lahum sharaabun min hamee minw wa 'azaabun 'aleemun bimaa kaanoo yakfuroon )

4. To Him all of you have to return. The promise (12) of Allah is true. Surely, He creates for the first time, then He shall reproduce it after destruction so that He may give the reward of justice to those who believe (13), and do good deeds (14). And for the infidels is the boiling (15), drink and a painful punishment, the reward of their infidelity (16).

هُوَ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ ضِيَآءٗ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ نُورٗا وَقَدَّرَهُۥ مَنَازِلَ لِتَعۡلَمُواْ عَدَدَ ٱلسِّنِينَ وَٱلۡحِسَابَۚ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ذَٰلِكَ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ يُفَصِّلُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لِقَوۡمٖ يَعۡلَمُونَ
 Transliteration:( Huwal lazee ja'alash shamsa diyaaa'anw walqamara nooranw wa qaddarahoo manaazila li ta'lamoo 'adadas sineena walhisaab; maa khalaqal laahu zaalika illa bilhaqq; yufassilul aayaati li qawminy ya'lamoon )

5. It is He Who has made the sun radiant and the moon glittering(17), and for it stages (18), so that you may know the computation (19), of years and calculation. Allah has not created that but in truth (20), He explains fully the signs for the people of knowledge (21).

إِنَّ فِي ٱخۡتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَتَّقُونَ

6. Surely, night (22), in the and day variation of and whatever Allah has created in the heavens and the earth, there are signs for those who fear (23) (Allah).

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرۡجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا وَرَضُواْ بِٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱطۡمَأَنُّواْ بِهَا وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ عَنۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا غَٰفِلُونَ
 Transliteration:( Innal lazeena laa yarjoona liqaaa'anaa wa radoo bilhayaatid dunyaa watma' annoo bihaa wallazeena hum 'an Aayaatinaa ghaafiloon )

7. Without doubt, those who have no hope to meet Us and are well pleased (24), with this worldly life and are satisfied with it, and those who are neglectful of Our Signs (25).

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ مَأۡوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ
 Transliteration:( Ulaaa'ika ma'waahumun Naaru bimaa kaanoo yaksiboon )

8. Their abode (26), is Hell, as the return of what they earn.

9. No doubt, those who believe and do good deeds (27), their Lord will guide (28) them on account of their faith. Beneath them rivers (29) will be flowing in the gardens of delight.

دَعۡوَىٰهُمۡ فِيهَا سُبۡحَٰنَكَ ٱللَّهُمَّ وَتَحِيَّتُهُمۡ فِيهَا سَلَٰمٞۚ وَءَاخِرُ دَعۡوَىٰهُمۡ أَنِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
 Transliteration:( Da'waahum feehaa Subhaanakal laahumma wa tahiyyatuhum feehaa salaam; wa aakhiru da'waahum anil hamdu lillaahi Rabbil 'aalameen )

10. Their prayer (30), in it shall be: "Sanctity be to You O Allah!" And the opening word of the time of their greeting (31), is "Peace" and the end of their prayer is: "All praise be to Allah Who is the Lord of all the worlds (32)"

It has 109 ayaat (verses) and was revealed in Makkah before Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) migrated to Medina. This surah is found in juz/paara 11.

This Surah was revealed during the last stage of the Prophet's residence at Makkah, and dealt with Allah being the only Creator of this universe. The mushrikin were warned against worshiping deities other than Allah, as these have no power to either benefit or harm anyone, nor are they even aware that they are being worshiped. Guidance was provided as to how each nation was sent a Rasool for guidance; Al-Qur'an having a cure for all the problems of mankind; Mushrikin following nothing but conjectures; detailed discussions on the stories of Nuh and Musa and Fir'on; and warnings against forcing anyone to convert to Islam.

This chapter calls upon those who were hesitant to accept the Prophet's message, as they found it strange that a human being was imparting the divine words of Allah. But this is neither strange nor related to sorcery. He simply informed them of two essential facts: firstly, that Allah, the Creator of all things, is your Lord and only He merits worship, and secondly, that in the hereafter you will be held to account for how you lived in this world. Whether you agree with these truths or not, they are realities and if accepted can bring salvation; otherwise, you will suffer due to your misdeeds.
