📖 Commentary of Verse 10 (71:10 Surah Nuh)

"I said: 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord. Verily, He is the Most Forgiving.' "

✅ True Forgiveness Requires Faith (18)

Hazrat Nuh (Alaihissalam) urged his people to seek Allah’s (اللَّهُ ) forgiveness. However, this verse teaches an important lesson:

  • Istighfar (seeking forgiveness) only benefits after accepting faith. Without faith (Iman), mere verbal repentance does not lead to salvation.

  • Allah (اللَّهُ ) is Most Forgiving, always ready to accept sincere repentance from those who turn to Him with belief.

Ibn-Kathir
