The Theme / Summary of Surah Adh-Dhariyat

There were three main topics of the Surah in Meccan Surah, namely Oneness of God, Resurrection, and the hereafter. To teach a lesson about what happened to the Nations of Lut and Moses when they denied their messengers and true teachings of religion, it also briefly mentions the story of the Nations of Lut and Moses.

Lessons Learned from this Surah Adh-Dhariyat:

1. One of the qualities of god-conscious people is that they are always in acknowledged as being imperfect, and they constantly seek forgiveness from Allāh for that.  

2. There are signs of Allāh’s existence and power all around us, even within ourselves.  

3. Be hospitable to guests.  

4. It is natural to utter statements of astonishment when the occasion demands, as long as both the statements and the belief remain within the framework of SharÄ«‘ah.  

5. Advice, for advice is always beneficial to the believers.  

6.Allāh created us only for His worship.  

7. Allāh is the true sustainer.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

وَلَا تَجۡعَلُواْ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَۖ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنۡهُ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ
Transliteration:( Wa laa taj'aloo ma'al laahi ilaahan aakhara innee lakum minhu nazeerum mubeen )

51.And do not set any God for worship along with. Surely, I am a clear warner (59) to you from Him.

كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُواْ سَاحِرٌ أَوۡ مَجۡنُونٌ
Transliteration:( Kazaalika maaa atal lazeena min qablihim mir Rasoolin illaa qaaloo saahirun aw majnoon )

52.In the same way, whenever any Messenger came to those before them, they only said: "A magician (60), or a madman."

أَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِهِۦۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمٞ طَاغُونَ
Transliteration:( Atawaasaw bih; bal hum qawmun taaghoon )

53. Have they charged each other with this? No! Rather they are a rebellious (61) people.

فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٖ
Transliteration:( Fatawalla 'anhum famaaa anta bimaloom )

54.Therefore (O dear Prophet) keep away (62) from them, and there is no blame (63) on you (for that).

وَذَكِّرۡ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Transliteration:( Wa zakkir fa innaz zikraa tanfa'ul mu'mineen )

55 And continue (64) to warn, because of admonition benefits (65) the believers

وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ
Transliteration:( Wa maa khalaqtul jinna wal insa illaa liya'budoon )

56. And I have not created the jinns nd the human beings except to worship (66) Me.

مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنۡهُم مِّن رِّزۡقٖ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطۡعِمُونِ
Transliteration:( Maaa ureedu minhum mir rizqinw wa maaa ureedu anyyut'imoon )

57. Neither do I ask any provision (67) from them, nor do I desire that they should feed (68) Me.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلۡقُوَّةِ ٱلۡمَتِينُ
Transliteration:( Innal laaha Huwar Razzaaqu Zul Quwwatil Mateen )

58. Certainly, it is only Allah, who is the Great Provider (69), the Powerful, the Authoritative (70),

فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ ذَنُوبٗا مِّثۡلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصۡحَٰبِهِمۡ فَلَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونِ
Transliteration:( Fa inna lillazeena zalamoo zanoobam misla zanoobi ashaabihim falaa yasta'jiloon )

59.So undoubtedly, those who were cruel shall have a portion of (comforts) like their companions (71) of times. Therefore, let them not ask Me to hasten (72) (the penalty).

فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن يَوۡمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ
Transliteration:( Fawailul lillazeena kafaroo miny yawmihimul lazee yoo'adoon )

60. Woe unto those who disbelieve because of that day of theirs, which they are promised (73).
