The Spider(Arabic: العنكبوت, al-‘ankabūt) is the 29th chapter (surah) of the Quran with 69 verses (āyāt).

The summary/theme of the surah al-‘ankabūt: 

Muslims who are sincere are strengthened by this Surah, and those who are weak in their faith are admonished. During those days, some young men faced questions regarding Islam, and their parents encouraged them to return to their ancestral religion in place of Islam. This Surah also addresses these questions.

Lesson learned from  surah al-‘ankabūt: 

  1. Do we think that we will be left alone without being tested on our Īmān? Being tested is inevitable.  
  2. Allāh gives parables and examples in the Qur’ān that only the knowledgeable understand.  
  3. Ṣalāh performed properly will stop you from committing sins.  
  4. Every soul shall taste death  
  5. The life of the Hereafter is one worth living and anticipating.  
  6. Whoever strives in the way of Allāh, Allāh will guide him/her.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

وَلَمَّا جَآءَتۡ رُسُلُنَآ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ بِٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا مُهۡلِكُوٓاْ أَهۡلِ هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِۖ إِنَّ أَهۡلَهَا كَانُواْ ظَٰلِمِينَ
 Transliteration:( Wa lammaa jaaa'at Rusulunaaa Ibraaheema bil bushraa qaalooo innaa muhlikoo ahli haazihil qaryati inna ahlahaa kaanoo zaalimeen )

31. When our angels (71) came to Ibrahim with glad tidings (72). They said, 'We shall surely destroy (73) the people of this city'. Undoubtedly, its inhabitants are oppressors (74).

32. He said, in it indeed is Lut (75). The angels said, we know well (76) who is in it, we shall surely deliver him(77) and his family but his wife, she is among those who remain behind(78)

33. And when our angels came to Lut (79) their coming became unpleasant to him and on account of them his heart was stratitened(80), but they said, fear (81) not and nor grieve, undoubtedly, we shall deliver you and your family (82) but your wife, she is among those who remain behind (83) .

34. Undoubtedly, we are going to bring down upon the people of this city a torment (84) from the heavens, the recompense of their disobedience.

36. And to Madian We sent their compatriot Shoaib (86), then he said, O my people, worship Allah, and hope (87) for the last day, and wander not spreading mischief in the land (88).

38. And destroyed Aad and Thamud and you have already known their dwellings (91), and the Devil (Satan) make their work appear fair-seeming (92) to them and kept them back from the path through they could see clearly (93).

39. And Quaroon (94), and Firawn and Haman (95) (We destroyed). And undoubtedly, Musa came to them with bright signs, then they showed haughtiness in the land(96), and they could not outstrip Us (97).

 Transliteration:( Fakullan akhaznaa bi zanbihee faminhum man arsalnaa 'alaihi haasibaa; wa minhum man akhazat hus saihatu wa minhum man khasafnaa bihil arda wa minhum man aghraqnaa; wa maa kaanal laahu li yazlimahum wa laakin kaanoo anfusahum yazlimoon )

40. Then We seized each of them on account of his sin (98), then as to some of them We sent the storm of stoning, and as to some of them, a roaring blast overtook them and as to some of them We buried in the earth and as to some of them, We drowned (99) And it was not befitting to the Dignity of Allah that He would have oppressed them, yes they themselves oppressed their souls (100),
