The summary/theme of the surah al-‘ankabÅ«t: 

Muslims who are sincere are strengthened by this Surah, and those who are weak in their faith are admonished. During those days, some young men faced questions regarding Islam, and their parents encouraged them to return to their ancestral religion in place of Islam. This Surah also addresses these questions.

Lesson learned from  surah al-‘ankabÅ«t: 

  1. Do we think that we will be left alone without being tested on our Īmān? Being tested is inevitable.  
  2. Allāh gives parables and examples in the Qur’ān that only the knowledgeable understand.  
  3. á¹¢alāh performed properly will stop you from committing sins.  
  4. Every soul shall taste death  
  5. The life of the Hereafter is one worth living and anticipating.  
  6. Whoever strives in the way of Allāh, Allāh will guide him/her.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

أَوَلَمۡ يَكۡفِهِمۡ أَنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ يُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَرَحۡمَةٗ وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ
 Transliteration:( Awa lam yakfihim annaaa anzalnaa 'alaikal kitaaba yutlaa 'alaihim; inna fee zaalika larahmatanw wa zikraa liqawminy yu'minoon (section 5) )

51. Does it not suffice them that We have sent down upon you the Book (129) that is recited to them? (130) Undoubtedly, there is mercy and an admonition to the believers (131),

قُلۡ كَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ بَيۡنِي وَبَيۡنَكُمۡ شَهِيدٗاۖ يَعۡلَمُ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱلۡبَٰطِلِ وَكَفَرُواْ بِٱللَّهِ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
 Transliteration:( Qul kafaa billaahi bainee wa bainakum shaheedaa; ya'lamu maa fis samaawaati wal ard; wallazeena aamanoo bil baatili wa kafaroo billaahi ulaaa'ika humul khaasiroon )

52. Say you, 'Allah is sufficient as a witness (132) between me and you. He knows what is in the heavens and in the earth ’ (133) And those who believed in falsehood and denied the existence of Allah, they are the people who are at a loss (134).

وَيَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَكَ بِٱلۡعَذَابِ وَلَوۡلَآ أَجَلٞ مُّسَمّٗى لَّجَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُۚ وَلَيَأۡتِيَنَّهُم بَغۡتَةٗ وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ
 Transliteration:( Wa yasta'jiloonaka bil'azaab; wa law laaa ajalum musammal lajaaa'ahumul a'zaab; wa la ya'tiannahum baghta tanw wa hum laa yash'uroon )

53. And they demand you to hasten the torment (135). And if there had not been an appointed term, then most certainly the torment would have come upon them (136). And necessarily, it shall come upon them suddenly, when they shall be unaware (137).

55. The day when the torment will cover them from above them and from below their feet, and He will say, 'Taste what you have done' (139).

58. And undoubtedly, those who have believed and did good deeds, certainly We shall aloft them in the lofty parts of Heaven, beneath it streams flow, they shall abide therein forever (143). What an excellent reward for the good doers (144).
