The summary/theme of the Surah Al-Kahf 

In this Surah, there are one hundred and ten verses, all of which were revealed in Mecca. The story of the Companions of the Cave (Kahf), Moses and Khidr (a.s.), Zulqarnayn, and some awakening materials about Origin and End are discussed in this holy Surah.

Lesson learned from Surah Al-Kahf 

  1. There are no discrepancies in the Qur’ān.  
  2. Make a point of saying In-shā’Allāh when speaking of doing something in the future.  
  3. Don’t let the wealth and blessings given to you by Allāh lead you to neglecting Him.  
  4. Allāh is oft forgiving and the possessor of mercy.  
  5. When planning on travelling with people, let them know of the nature of the journey so they can be well prepared.  
  6. If you realise you will not get on with a person due to differences in personality/nature, it is best to keep your distance.  
  7. If you have to do something in the presence of others who may not understand your actions, explain your reasons to them.  
  8. The worst losers are those who think they are doing good in the world, whereas in reality they aren’t.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَعۡثَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ لِيَعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقّٞ وَأَنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيهَآ إِذۡ يَتَنَٰزَعُونَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ أَمۡرَهُمۡۖ فَقَالُواْ ٱبۡنُواْ عَلَيۡهِم بُنۡيَٰنٗاۖ رَّبُّهُمۡ أَعۡلَمُ بِهِمۡۚ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ غَلَبُواْ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡرِهِمۡ لَنَتَّخِذَنَّ عَلَيۡهِم مَّسۡجِدٗا
 Transliteration:( Wa kazaalika a'sarnaa 'alaihim liya'lamooo anna wa'dal laahi haqqunw wa annas Saa'ata laa raiba feehaa iz yatanaaza'oona bainahum amrahum faqaalub noo 'alaihim bunyaanaa; Rabbuhum a'lamu bihim; qaalal lazeena ghalaboo 'alaaa amrihim lanat takhizanna 'alaihim masjidaa )

21. Likewise we did inform of them that the people might know that Allah's promise is true and that hour, there is no doubt about it, (45), when they began disputing among themselves about their affair. Then they said. build over their cave any building.' (46). their Lord knows well about them. Those who prevailed in their affair said, 'we swear that we shall erect over them a mosque,' (47).

 Transliteration:( Sa yaqooloona salaasatur raabi'uhum kalbuhum wa yaqooloona khamsatun saadisuhum kalbuhum rajmam bilghaib; wa yaqooloona sab'atunw wa saaminuhum kalbuhum; qur Rabbeee a'lamu bi'iddatihim maa ya'lamuhum illaa qaleel; falaa tumaari feehim illaa miraaa'an zaahiranw wa laa tastafti feehim minhum ahadaa (section 3) )

22. Now they will say. they are three and the fourth one is their dog'. (48), and some will say, they are 6 five and sixth one is their dog, without seeing, guessing at random, (49), and some will say they are seven and the one is their dog.'(50), say you, My Lord knows them but a few, (51), so debate not about them, but the discussion to the extent outwardly expressed' (52), and ask not to any man of the book about them.(53).

26. Say you,' Allah Knows well how long they stayed. (58). for Him alone is all the unseen of heavens and earth. What excellent He sees and what excellent He hears(59). they have no protector(60). beside him and he associates no one in His order. (61).

 Transliteration:( Wasbir nafsaka ma'al lazeena yad'oona Rabbahum bilghadaati wal'ashiyyi yureedoona Wajhahoo wa laa ta'du 'aynaaka 'anhum tureedu zeenatal hayaatid dunyaa wa laa tuti' man aghfalnaa qalbahoo 'an zikrinaa wattaba'a hawaahu wa kaana amruhoo furutaa )

28. And keep yourself familiar to those who call upon their Lord in the morning and evening (64), seeking His pleasure (65), and your eyes should not see you like the adornment of the life of this world? And obey not him whose heart We have made neglectful of our remembrance and who followed his own desire (68), and whose affair exceeded the limit.

 Transliteration:( Wa qulil haqqu mir Rabbikum faman shaaa'a falyu'minw wa man shaaa'a falyakfur; innaaa a'tadnaa lizzaalimeena Naaran ahaata bihim suraadiquhaa; wa iny yastagheesoo yughaasoo bimaaa'in kalmuhli yashwil wujooh' bi'sash-sharaab; wa saaa'at murtafaqaa )

29. And say 'the truth is from your Lord. Then who so will, let him believe and who so will, let him disbelieve. (69). Undoubtedly We have already prepared for the unjust a fire whose walls would surround them( 70), and if they complain for water, then they will be like molten lead (71), that will burn the faces. What a bad drink it is and hell what an evil place to stay. (72),
