The summary/theme of the Surah Al-Kahf 

In this Surah, there are one hundred and ten verses, all of which were revealed in Mecca. The story of the Companions of the Cave (Kahf), Moses and Khidr (a.s.), Zulqarnayn, and some awakening materials about Origin and End are discussed in this holy Surah.

Lesson learned from Surah Al-Kahf 

  1. There are no discrepancies in the Qur’ān.  
  2. Make a point of saying In-shā’Allāh when speaking of doing something in the future.  
  3. Don’t let the wealth and blessings given to you by Allāh lead you to neglecting Him.  
  4. Allāh is oft forgiving and the possessor of mercy.  
  5. When planning on travelling with people, let them know of the nature of the journey so they can be well prepared.  
  6. If you realise you will not get on with a person due to differences in personality/nature, it is best to keep your distance.  
  7. If you have to do something in the presence of others who may not understand your actions, explain your reasons to them.  
  8. The worst losers are those who think they are doing good in the world, whereas in reality they aren’t.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

أَوۡ يُصۡبِحَ مَآؤُهَا غَوۡرٗا فَلَن تَسۡتَطِيعَ لَهُۥ طَلَبٗا
Transliteration:( Aw yusbiha maaa'uhaaa ghawran falan tastatee'a lahoo talabaa )

41. Or its water sink (97), in the ground, then you could never be able to find it.

وَأُحِيطَ بِثَمَرِهِۦ فَأَصۡبَحَ يُقَلِّبُ كَفَّيۡهِ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَنفَقَ فِيهَا وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أُشۡرِكۡ بِرَبِّيٓ أَحَدٗا
Transliteration:( Wa uheeta bisamarihee faasbaha yuqallibu kaffaihi 'alaa maaa anfaqa feehaa wa hiya khaawiyatun 'alaa 'urooshihaa wa yaqoolu yaalaitanee lam ushrik bi Rabbeee ahadaa )

42.And his fruits were encompassed,(98), then he remained wringing his hands (99), for what he had spent in that gardenand it had fallen (100), on its trellises and he is saying Oh: if I would not have associated anyone with my Lord'. (101)

وَلَمۡ تَكُن لَّهُۥ فِئَةٞ يَنصُرُونَهُۥ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا كَانَ مُنتَصِرًا
Transliteration:( Wa lam takul lahoo fi'atuny yansuroonahoo min doonil laahi wa maa kaana muntasiraa )

43. And he had no party to help him against Allah, nor was he able to take revenge, (102)

هُنَالِكَ ٱلۡوَلَٰيَةُ لِلَّهِ ٱلۡحَقِّۚ هُوَ خَيۡرٞ ثَوَابٗا وَخَيۡرٌ عُقۡبٗا
Transliteration:( Hunaalikal walaayatu lillaahil haqq; huwa khairun sawaabanw wa khairun 'uqbaa (section 5) )

44. Here it becomes clear that the authority is of Allah, the true. (103), his reward the best and best is the end of believing in him.

وَٱضۡرِبۡ لَهُم مَّثَلَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا كَمَآءٍ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَٱخۡتَلَطَ بِهِۦ نَبَاتُ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَأَصۡبَحَ هَشِيمٗا تَذۡرُوهُ ٱلرِّيَٰحُۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ مُّقۡتَدِرًا
Transliteration:( Wadrib lahum masalal hayaatid dunyaa kamaaa'in anzalnaahu minas samaaa'i fakhtalata bihee nabaatul ardi fa asbaha hasheeman tazroo hur riyaah; wa kaanal laahu 'alaa kulli shai'im muqtadiraa )

45. And relate to them the example of the life of the world it is a water We sent down (104), from the heaven, then the greenery of the earth because of it came out thickly and then it became dry grass which the wind scatters And Allah is powerful (105) over everything (106).

ٱلۡمَالُ وَٱلۡبَنُونَ زِينَةُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ وَٱلۡبَٰقِيَٰتُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتُ خَيۡرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابٗا وَخَيۡرٌ أَمَلٗا
Transliteration:( Almaalu walbanoona zeenatul hayaatid dunya wal baaqiyaatus saalihaatu khairun 'inda Rabbika sawaabanw wa khairun amalaa )

46. The wealth and sons are adornment (107), of the life of this world and the lasting are the good things (108), their reward is better with your Lord and is best in hope.

وَيَوۡمَ نُسَيِّرُ ٱلۡجِبَالَ وَتَرَى ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَارِزَةٗ وَحَشَرۡنَٰهُمۡ فَلَمۡ نُغَادِرۡ مِنۡهُمۡ أَحَدٗا
Transliteration:( Wa yawma nusaiyirul jibaala wa taral arda baariza tanw wa hasharnaahum falam nughaadir minhum ahadaa )

47. And the day We shall cause the mountain (109), to move and you will see the earth clean open (110), and We shall raise them, We shall not leave any one of them (111).

وَعُرِضُواْ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ صَفّٗا لَّقَدۡ جِئۡتُمُونَا كَمَا خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةِۭۚ بَلۡ زَعَمۡتُمۡ أَلَّن نَّجۡعَلَ لَكُم مَّوۡعِدٗا
Transliteration:( Wa 'uridoo 'alaa Rabbika saffaa, laqad ji'tumoonaa kamaa khalaqnaakum awala marrah; bal za'amtum allannaj'ala lakum maw'idaa )

48. And all shall be presented before your Lord standing in rows. Undoubtedly you have come to Us same as We have made you at first (112), but you thought that We would never fix any time of the promise.

وَوُضِعَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ فَتَرَى ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ مُشۡفِقِينَ مِمَّا فِيهِ وَيَقُولُونَ يَٰوَيۡلَتَنَا مَالِ هَٰذَا ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَا يُغَادِرُ صَغِيرَةٗ وَلَا كَبِيرَةً إِلَّآ أَحۡصَىٰهَاۚ وَوَجَدُواْ مَا عَمِلُواْ حَاضِرٗاۗ وَلَا يَظۡلِمُ رَبُّكَ أَحَدٗا
Transliteration:( Wa wudi'al kitaabu fataral mujrimeena mushfiqeena mimmaa feehi wa yaqooloona yaa wailatanaa maa lihaazal kitaabi laa yughaadiru saghee ratanw wa laa kabeeratan illaaa ahsaahaa; wa wajadoo maa 'amiloo haadiraa; wa laa yazlimu Rabbuka ahadaa (Section 6) )

49. And the book shall be put (113), then you will see the culprits fearing for what is written therein and will say, 'Oh! Woe to us, what happened to this writing? It left neither any small sin nor a big sin that has not been encompassed (114), and they found all that they did before them (115). And your Lord is not unjust to anyone (116)

وَإِذۡ قُلۡنَا لِلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسۡجُدُواْ لِأٓدَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓاْ إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ فَفَسَقَ عَنۡ أَمۡرِ رَبِّهِۦٓۗ أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُۥ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُۥٓ أَوۡلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِي وَهُمۡ لَكُمۡ عَدُوُّۢۚ بِئۡسَ لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ بَدَلٗا
Transliteration:( Wa iz qulnaa lil malaaa'ikatis judoo li Aadama fasajadooo illaaa Ibleesa kaana minal jinni fafasaqa 'an amri Rabbih; afatattakhizoonahoo wa zurriyatahooo awliyaaa'a min doonee wa hum lakum 'aduww; bi'sa lizzaalimeena badalaa )

50. And remember when We ordered angels to postrate (117), before Adam, then all prostrated save Iblees (Devil). He was of the jinn (118), and then he went out (119). of the command of his Lord. do you take him and his offspring's for friends (120). apart from Me? And they're your enemies what an evil exchange the unjust got (121).
