The summary /theme of the Surah Az-Zumar: 

It is primarily about calling people to monotheism and sincerity in worship in Surah Zumar. As the surah begins, it emphasizes the benefits of monotheism and Allah not having any sons. It asks the Prophet to purify his religion and not to worship the polytheist gods.

Lesson learned from Az-Zumar: 

  1. No soul will carry the burden of another on the Day of Qiyāmah.  
  2. Generally, when a human is afflicted with difficulty, he/she turns to Allāh, but when they then enjoy a blessing, they forget their turning to Allāh.  
  3. Ignorant and knowledgeable people can never be equal.  
  4. Allāh promises those who adopt taqwā and do good, goodness in this world as well as the Hereafter  
  5. None except Allāh can save those who have been doomed to the Fire 
  6. When those who fear Allāh hear the Qur’ān, they tremble, and their hearts soften and incline towards Allāh’s remembrance.  
  7. There is no greater oppressor than the one who attributes falsehood to Allāh, and denies the truth when it comes to him.  
  8. Is Allāh not sufficient for His slave?  
  9. If the oppressors had the option to give the equivalent of twice the world and everything that it contains in return for safety from the severe punishment of the Hereafter, they would give it. However, they shall face such punishment that they had not anticipated in the slightest.  
  10.  Allāh forgives all sins; let not those who have sinned excessively lose hope in Allāh’s Mercy.  
  11. Turn to Allāh and submit to Him before it’s too late, and His punishment befalls you. You will then be totally helpless.  
  12. Those who lied against Allāh will find their faces blackened on the Day of Qiyāmah.  
  13. On the Day of Judgement, each soul shall be recompensed for its deeds in full.  
  14. When the people of Jahannam shall be taken to Jahannam, the doors will be flung open for them to enhance their horrific experience.  
  15. When the people of Jannah will be led to Jannah, its doors will already be open to receive them with honour.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

وَسِيقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ زُمَرًاۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوهَا فُتِحَتۡ أَبۡوَٰبُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمۡ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمۡ يَأۡتِكُمۡ رُسُلٞ مِّنكُمۡ يَتۡلُونَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّكُمۡ وَيُنذِرُونَكُمۡ لِقَآءَ يَوۡمِكُمۡ هَٰذَاۚ قَالُواْ بَلَىٰ وَلَٰكِنۡ حَقَّتۡ كَلِمَةُ ٱلۡعَذَابِ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
 Transliteration:( Wa seeqal lazeena kafaroo ilaa jahannama zumaraa hattaaa izaa jaaa'oohaa futihat abwaabuhaa wa qaala lahum khazanatuhaaa alam ya'tikum Rusulun minkum yatloona 'alaikum Aayaati Rabbikum wa yunziroonakum liqaaa'a Yawmikum haazaa; qaaloo balaa wa laakin haqqat kalimatul 'azaabi 'alal kaafireen )

71.And the infidels shall be driven (172) towards Hell in groups (173). Until when they shall reach it, its gates will be opened (174) and the keeper (175) shall say to them: "Did not Messengers come (176) to you from amongst you, reciting verses of your Lord, and warning (177) you of the meeting of this day of yours?" They will say: "Why not (178)" But the words of punishment would be justified (179) on the infidels.

 Transliteration:( Qeelad khuloo abwaaba jahannama khaalideena feeha fabi'sa maswal mutakabbireen )

72.It shall be said to them: "Enter the gates of Hell to reside forever (180) therein”. Evil is the destination of those who are boastful.

 Transliteration:( Wa seeqal lazeenat taqaw Rabbahum ilal Jannati zumaraa hattaaa izaa jaaa'oohaa wa futihat abwaabuhaa wa qaala lahum khazanatuhaa salaamun 'alaikum tibtum fadkhuloohaa khaalideen )

73. And those who remained pious to their Lord;(181) their conveyances shall be escorted to Paradise in groups (182). Till they reach there, the gates shall be opened (183) and the keepers will say to them: "Peace be upon you” (184). Excellent were you, so enter Paradise to abide therein forever (185)"

 Transliteration:( Wa qaalull hamdulillaahil lazee sadaqanaa wa'dahoo wa awrasanal arda natabaw wa-u minal jannati haisu nashaaa'u fani'ma ajrul 'aamileen )

74.And they will say: "All praise be to Allah Who has made good His promise to us, and made us inherit (186) the land so that we may dwell in Paradise, wherever we please (187), Excellent is the reward of the activities (in piety).

وَتَرَى ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ حَآفِّينَ مِنۡ حَوۡلِ ٱلۡعَرۡشِ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّهِمۡۚ وَقُضِيَ بَيۡنَهُم بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ وَقِيلَ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
 Transliteration:( Wa taral malaaa'ikata haaaffeena min hawlil 'Arshi yusabbihoona bihamdi Rabbihim wa qudiya bainahum bilhaqqi wa qeelal hamdu lillaahi Rabbil 'aalameen (section 8) )

75. And you will see the angels (188) surrounding His Authority, glorifying the praise of their Lord. And it will be decided between them justly. And it will be said (189): "All praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the universe (190)"
