The summary /theme of the Surah Az-Zumar: 

It is primarily about calling people to monotheism and sincerity in worship in Surah Zumar. As the surah begins, it emphasizes the benefits of monotheism and Allah not having any sons. It asks the Prophet to purify his religion and not to worship the polytheist gods.

Lesson learned from Az-Zumar: 

  1. No soul will carry the burden of another on the Day of Qiyāmah.  
  2. Generally, when a human is afflicted with difficulty, he/she turns to Allāh, but when they then enjoy a blessing, they forget their turning to Allāh.  
  3. Ignorant and knowledgeable people can never be equal.  
  4. Allāh promises those who adopt taqwā and do good, goodness in this world as well as the Hereafter  
  5. None except Allāh can save those who have been doomed to the Fire 
  6. When those who fear Allāh hear the Qur’ān, they tremble, and their hearts soften and incline towards Allāh’s remembrance.  
  7. There is no greater oppressor than the one who attributes falsehood to Allāh, and denies the truth when it comes to him.  
  8. Is Allāh not sufficient for His slave?  
  9. If the oppressors had the option to give the equivalent of twice the world and everything that it contains in return for safety from the severe punishment of the Hereafter, they would give it. However, they shall face such punishment that they had not anticipated in the slightest.  
  10.  Allāh forgives all sins; let not those who have sinned excessively lose hope in Allāh’s Mercy.  
  11. Turn to Allāh and submit to Him before it’s too late, and His punishment befalls you. You will then be totally helpless.  
  12. Those who lied against Allāh will find their faces blackened on the Day of Qiyāmah.  
  13. On the Day of Judgement, each soul shall be recompensed for its deeds in full.  
  14. When the people of Jahannam shall be taken to Jahannam, the doors will be flung open for them to enhance their horrific experience.  
  15. When the people of Jannah will be led to Jannah, its doors will already be open to receive them with honour.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

فَأَصَابَهُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُواْۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مِنۡ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ سَيُصِيبُهُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُواْ وَمَا هُم بِمُعۡجِزِينَ
 Transliteration:( Fa asaabahum saiyi aatu maa kasaboo; wallazeena zalamoo min haaa'ulaaa'i sa yuseebuhum saiyi aatu maa kasaboo wa maa hum bimu'jizeen )

51. So, the evil (consequences) of their earnings overtook (128) them. And those who are unjust among(129) them, too, should be overtaken by he evils of their earnings, and they cannot escape it.

52. Do they not (130) know that Allah enlarges the provisions for whom He Pleases and restricts (131) them for whom He Pleases? Surely in it are signs for the people who believe.

۞قُلۡ يَٰعِبَادِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسۡرَفُواْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ لَا تَقۡنَطُواْ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَغۡفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًاۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
 Transliteration:( Qul yaa'ibaadiyal lazeena asrafoo 'alaaa anfusihim laa taqnatoo mirrahmatil laah; innal laaha yaghfiruz zunooba jamee'aa; innahoo Huwal Ghafoorur Raheem )

53. Please declare: "O My devotees (132), who (133) have committed excesses against their own souls (134), do not despair of the Mercy of Allah. Surely Allah forgives all the sins (135). Indeed He is the Most Forgiving (136), the Most Merciful".

54. And turn (137) towards your Lord and submit(138) yourselves to Him; before there comes to you the punishment, and then you shall not be helped (139).

60. And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who fabricated lies (148) against Allah, that their faces will be black (149). Is not the Hell an abode for those who are boastful?
