The theme/ Summary of the Surah Al-Ḥajj: 

Many verses in this Surah are about the Resurrection and its logical reasoning. A considerable part of this Holy Surah discusses the struggles against idolaters and polytheists, as well as warnings against those who ignore the events of the Hereafter, and so on.

Lesson learned from Surah Al-Ḥajj

  1. The Day of Qiyāmah will be full of horrors.  
  2. The blessings of Allāh are so many, we don’t even realize some to be actually blessings.  
  3. Every one of Allāh’s creations is subservient to Him, except the human.  
  4. Whoever revers the symbols of Allāh does so out of the Allāh-consciousness within his heart.[1]  
  5. Shayṭān tried to contaminate the revelation that each prophet received, but Allāh protected them all from it. He will therefore try his utmost to deceive man.  
  6. Those who are taken as gods other than Allāh cannot even create anything that equals a fly, let alone match Him in greater feats.  
  7. According to some scholars, Ibrāhīm عليه السلام was the first to give us the name ‘Muslims’.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

وَٱلَّذِينَ سَعَوۡاْ فِيٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا مُعَٰجِزِينَ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
Transliteration:( Wallazeena sa'aw feee Aayaatinaa mu'aajizeena ulaaa ika As-haabul jaheem )

51. And those who strive against our Verses with the intention of victory, are inmates of Hell. (111)

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٖ وَلَا نَبِيٍّ إِلَّآ إِذَا تَمَنَّىٰٓ أَلۡقَى ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ فِيٓ أُمۡنِيَّتِهِۦ فَيَنسَخُ ٱللَّهُ مَا يُلۡقِي ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ ثُمَّ يُحۡكِمُ ٱللَّهُ ءَايَٰتِهِۦۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٞ
Transliteration:( Wa maaa arsalnaa min qablika mir Rasoolinnw wa laa Nabiyyin illaaa izaaa tamannaaa alqash Shaitaanu feee umniy yatihee fa yansakhul laahu maa yulqish Shaitaanu summa yuhkimul laahu aayaatih; wallaahu 'Aleemun Hakeem )

52. And we sent as many Messenger (112) or Prophets, on all this incident has occurred sometimes, that when they recited then the devil added (113) something from his own side in their recital towards the people. But Allah removes what the devil casts forth, then Allah firmly establishes His signs (114) And Allah is Knowing, wise.

لِّيَجۡعَلَ مَا يُلۡقِي ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ فِتۡنَةٗ لِّلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٞ وَٱلۡقَاسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُمۡۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ لَفِي شِقَاقِۭ بَعِيدٖ
Transliteration:( Liyaj'ala maa yulqish Shaitaanu fitnatal lillazeena fee quloobihim maradunw walqaasiyati quloobuhum; wa innaz zaalimeena lafee shiqaaqim ba'eed )

53. That He may make what the devil casts forth a trial (115) for those in whose hearts is a disease and whose hearts are hardened. And undoubtedly the oppressors and quarrelsome (116) to the end..

وَلِيَعۡلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَيُؤۡمِنُواْ بِهِۦ فَتُخۡبِتَ لَهُۥ قُلُوبُهُمۡۗ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهَادِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
Transliteration:( Wa liya'lamal lazeena ootul 'ilma annahul haqqu mir Rabbika fa yu'minoo bihee fatukhbita lahoo quloobuhum; wa innal laaha lahaadil lazeena aamanoo ilaa Siraatim Mustaqeem )

54. And so that those who have been given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord, so they believed in it, then their hearts (117) may submit to it, and undoubtedly, Allah guides the believers to the straight path, (118).

وَلَا يَزَالُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِي مِرۡيَةٖ مِّنۡهُ حَتَّىٰ تَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ بَغۡتَةً أَوۡ يَأۡتِيَهُمۡ عَذَابُ يَوۡمٍ عَقِيمٍ
Transliteration:( Wa laa yazaalul lazeena kafaroo fee miryatim minhu hattaa taatiyahumus Saa'atu baghtatan aw yaatiyahum 'azaabu Yawmin 'aqeem )

55. And the infidels will remain in doubt about it. Until the Hour comes on them suddenly (119) or there comes to them the torment of a day the fruit of which may not be good for them.

ٱلۡمُلۡكُ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلَّهِ يَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَهُمۡۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ فِي جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
Transliteration:( Almulku Yawma'izil lillaahi yahkumu bainahum; fallazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati fee jannaatin Na'eem )

56. The Kingdom on that Day is of Allah's only (120) He will judge between them. Then those who believed (121) and did good deeds, they are in the gardens of comfort.

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ مُّهِينٞ
Transliteration:( Wallazeena kafaroo wa kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa fa ulaaa'ika lahum 'azaabum muheen (section 7) )

57. And those who disbelieved, and belied our signs, for them is the torment of humiliation. (122)

وَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ قُتِلُوٓاْ أَوۡ مَاتُواْ لَيَرۡزُقَنَّهُمُ ٱللَّهُ رِزۡقًا حَسَنٗاۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُوَ خَيۡرُ ٱلرَّـٰزِقِينَ
Transliteration:( Wallazeena haajaroo fee sabeelil laahi summa qutilooo aw maatoo la yarzuqan nahumul laahu rizqan hasanaa; wa innal laaha la Huwa khairur raaziqeen )

58. And for those who left their homes, in the way of (123) Allah, and were then slain or died, Allah will necessarily provide them with a goodly provision. And undoubtedly, the provision (124) of Allah is the best.

لَيُدۡخِلَنَّهُم مُّدۡخَلٗا يَرۡضَوۡنَهُۥۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلِيمٌ حَلِيمٞ
Transliteration:( La yudkhilan nahum mud khalany yardawnah; wa innal laaha la 'Aleemun Haleem )

59. Most certainly, He will carry them to such a place, which they will like. And Undoubtedly Allah is Knowing, forbearing (125).

۞ذَٰلِكَۖ وَمَنۡ عَاقَبَ بِمِثۡلِ مَا عُوقِبَ بِهِۦ ثُمَّ بُغِيَ عَلَيۡهِ لَيَنصُرَنَّهُ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفُورٞ
Transliteration:( Zaalika wa man 'aaqaba bimisli maa 'ooqiba bihee summa bughiya 'alaihi la yansurannahul laah; innal laaha la 'Afuwwun Ghafoor )

60. The thing is this, and who so takes revenge the like of which he was tortured, and if he is transgressed again then surely Allah will help him. Undoubtedly Allah is Pardoning, Forgiveness. (126)
