The summary/theme of the Surah Ar-Ra'd,:

The main theme of this Surah is that the Message of Allah is the Truth. People should not reject it. The arguments in the whole Surah revolve around this theme, and the Message's three core components, Tawhid (God is One), Risalat (Prophethood), and Resurrection, are repeated over and over.

Lesson learned from Surah Ar-Ra'd,:

  1. Allāh knows the unseen and the seen.
  2. Allāh does not change the state of a people unless they change what is within them.
  3. Only through the remembrance of Allāh do hearts find contentment.
  4. Despite presenting numerous irrefutable proofs of prophethood, ultimately the Prophet ﷺ was told to say, if you do not believe, Allāh is enough as witness between me and you. There comes a time when presenting proofs and evidences have no effect. At that point, one’s faith should be resorted to.

Transliteration:( Wa law anna Quraanan suyyirat bihil jibaalu aw qutti'at bihil ardu aw kullima bihil mawtaa; bal lillaahil amru jamee'aa; afalam yai'asil lazeena aamanooo al law yashaaa 'ullaahu lahadan naasa jamee'aa; wa laa yazaalul lazeena kafaroo tuseebuhum bimaa sana'oo qaari'atun aw tahullu qareebam min daarihim hatta ya'tiya wa'dul laah; innal laaha laa yukhliful mee'aad )

31. If there would have come a Quran by which mountains could be moved or the earth could be cut asunder or the dead could have spoken to. Even then too these infidels (85) would not have believed. But the entire affair is in the authority of Allah. Did then the Muslims not become disappointed with it that if Allah had willed, He would have guided (86) men altogether? And the thump will ever continue to smite (87) the infidels for what they wrought or it will alight near their houses (88) until Allah's promise comes (89). Verily Allah does not go against His promise

Transliteration:( Wa laqadis tuhzi'a bi Rusulim min qablika fa amlaitu lillazeena kafaroo summa akhaztuhum fakaifa kaana 'iqaab )

32. And surely, the messengers before you were mocked at. Then I let loose the infidels for some days. then I seized them (90). Then how was my torment?

Transliteration:( Afaman Huwa qaaa'imun 'alaa kulli nafsim bimaa kasabat; wa ja'aloo lillaahi shurakaaa'a qul samoohum; am tunabbi'oona hoo bimaa laa ya'lamu fil ardi; am bizaahirim minal qawl; bal zuyyina lillazeena kafaroo makruhum wa suddoo 'anis sabeel; wa mai yudlilil laahu famaa lahoo min haad; )

33. Is then he who watches every soul with his actions? And yet they ascribe to Allah associates (91), Say you, name them. or do you inform him of what is not in His knowledge in the entire earth (92) or by the way an empty saying? Rather their fraud has been made to look good in the eyes of the infidels (93), and they have been hindered from the way (94). And he whom Allah leads astray. Has no guide (95)

34. They shall be punished (96) in the life of the world. And verily the torments of the Hereafter is hardest and they have none to defend from Allah. (97)

Transliteration:( Masalul Jannatil latee wu'idal muttaqoona tajree min tahtihal anhaaru ukuluhaa daaa'imunw wa zilluhaa; tilka uqbal lazeenat taqaw wa 'uqbal kafireenan Naar )

35. The lightness of the heaven which has been promised (98) to the god fearing beneath its streams flow. Its fruits are everlasting (99) and its shade (100). This is the end of those who fear Allah and the end of the infidels is the fire (101),

Transliteration:( Wallazeena aatainaa humul Kitaaba yafrahoona bimaa unzila ilaika wa minal Ahzaabi mai yunkiru ba'dah; qul innamaa umirtu an a'budal laaha wa laaa ushrika bih; ilaihi ad'oo wa ilaihi maab )

36. And those whom We have given the Book (102) rejoice at what has been sent to you (103), Some who deny a part thereof (104). Say you, I am only commanded (105) to worship Allah and not to ascribe associates to him. To him, I call. And to him is my return.

Transliteration:( Wa kazaalika anzalnaahu hukman 'Arabiyyaa; wa la'init taba'ta ahwaaa 'ahum ba'da maa jaaa'aka minal 'ilmi maa laka minal laahi minw waliyinw wa laa waaq )

37. And thus We have sent it down as a decision in Arabic (106). And O' listener! If you will follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge (107), then you shall have no supporter nor defender against Allah.

Transliteration:( Wa laqad arsalnaa Rusulam min qablika wa ja'alnaa lahum azwaajanw wa zurriyyah; wa maa kaana lirasoolin ai ya'tiya bi aayatin illaa bi iznil laah; likulli ajalin kitaab )

38. And no doubt, We have sent messengers before you (108) and assigned to them wives and children (109). And it is not for a messenger to bring any sign, but by Allah's leave (110). For each promise, there is writing (111).

Transliteration:( Yamhul laahu maa yashaaa'u wa yusbitu wa 'indahooo ummul Kitaab )

39. Allah wipes out what He pleases and establishes (what He pleases) and the real writing is with Him. (112)

Transliteration:( Wa im maa nurriyannaka ba'dal lazee na'iduhum aw nata waffayannaka fa innamaa 'alaikal balaaghu wa 'alainal hisaab )

40. And if we show you any promise that is made to them or we call you (113) to us before. In any case upon you is only to deliver the message. And on us is the reckoning.
