Quran Quote  :

Quran-11:120 Surah Hud English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( Wa kullan naqussu 'alaika min ambaaa'ir Rusuli maa nusabbitu bihee fu'aadak; wa jaaa'aka fee haazihil haqqu wa maw'izatunw wa zikraa lilmu' mineen )

120. And all that we relate to you of the tidings of the messengers (232) is for the purpose of strengthening your heart (233), therewith, and in this Sura, the truth has come to you and admonition to the Muslims. (234)

Surah Hud Ayat 120 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

232. From this, we understand that Allah Almighty had conveyed the stories of all the Prophets to His Beloved Prophet some through the Holy صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم QUR'AAN and some through His own secret ways.

Therefore the Holy Prophet is fully aware of all the

Prophets صلى الله عليه وآله .

233. So that after seeing the harsh treatment meted out to the infidels the Holy Prophet's heart does not experience

any pain or distress, and it gets the strength to absorb and bear it.

From this emerge two issues:

1. The remembrance of the pious servants of Allah Almighty gives contentment to the heart.

2. The holy prophet is beloved to Allah Almighty to such an extent that He provides means of comforting and consoling him; He does not allow his heart to be grieved and distressed.

234. From this, we learn that the counseling of pious deeds is for believers only. On the other hand, the guidance of correct beliefs is for all, mankind.

Ibn-Kathir

120. And all that We relate to you of the news of the Messengers is in order that We may make strong and firm your heart thereby. And in this has come to you the truth, as well as an admonition and a reminder for the believers.

The Conclusion

Allah, the Exalted, is saying, `We relate all of these stories to you (Muhammad) concerning what happened with the Messengers who came before you with their nations. This is an explanation of what transpired in their arguments and disputes and how the Prophets were all rejected and harmed. These stories also explain how Allah helped His party of believers and disgraced His enemies, the disbelievers. We relate all of this to you (Muhammad) in order to make your heart firm and so that you may take an example from your brothers who passed before you of the Messengers.’ Concerning Allah’s statement,

﴿وَجَآءَكَ فِى هَـذِهِ الْحَقُّ﴾

(And in this has come to you the truth,) This is referring to this Surah itself. This was said by Ibn `Abbas, Mujahid and a group of the Salaf and it is the correct view. This means, `This comprehensive Surah contains the stories of the Prophets and how Allah saved them, and the believers along with them and how He destroyed the disbelievers. There has come to you (Muhammad) stories of truth and true events in this Surah. In this Surah is an admonition that prevents the disbelievers, and a reminder that causes the believers to reflect.’

(11:120) (O Muhammad!) We narrate these anecdotes of Messengers to you that We may strengthen through them your heart. In these anecdotes come to you the truth, and an exhortation, and a reminder for the believers.
