    📖 Commentary of Surah Hud – Verse 67

    "And a roaring noise [141] overtook those who did wrong, and by morning, they lay prostrate in their homes."

    ✅ [141] The Roaring Noise and Its Effect
    The "roaring noise" referred to in this verse was caused by Hazrat Jibrael (peace be upon him), whose sound was so powerful that it struck fear into the hearts of the disbelievers. This sound was so intense that it fractured their hearts, leading to their instant death, as if their hearts could not bear the shock. In modern times, we often hear of death being caused by lightning or the explosion of bombs, which create similar shocking effects. The Qur'an also mentions that some disbelievers were seized by an earthquake (Surah Al-A'raf, 7:78), which could indicate that the roaring noise caused a tremor, just like a violent explosion can trigger an earthquake. This explains the simultaneous effects of the sound, and there's no inconsistency in the verse regarding the manner of their destruction.
