📖 Commentary of Surah Hud – Verse 60

"And a curse [124] was followed them in this world and on the Day of Judgment. Listen, 'Aad rejected [125] their Lord. Away with 'Aad, the people of Hud [126]."

✅ [124] Curse in This World and the Hereafter
The curse mentioned in this verse signifies that the people of Aad were denied the opportunity to seek repentance. In this world, they were subjected to punishment, disgrace, and were disliked by Allah's servants. This curse indicates that their hearts were sealed, and they were deprived of mercy and the ability to repent. The curse in the Hereafter is even more severe, as their faces will be blackened, their book of deeds will be given in their left hand, and they will be apprehended by angels for their disobedience. This highlights the ultimate consequences of rejecting Allah and His Prophet.

✅ [125] Rejection of the Prophet is Rejection of Allah
The verse emphasizes that the people of Aad did not just reject their Prophet, Hazrat Hud (peace be upon him), but they essentially rejected Allah Himself. This teaches that rejecting the Prophet is a rejection of Allah’s authority and guidance. The Prophets are the appointed messengers of Allah, and to deny their message is to deny divine truth and guidance.

✅ [126] The People of Aad
The people of Aad were divided into two groups: Aad Hud (the ancient Aad) and Aad Iram (the new Aad). The verse refers to the people of Hud (peace be upon him), and this is why the term "Aad" is specifically linked to him. The people of Aad Iram represent a later generation, but both groups were equally marked by disobedience to Allah, and they were collectively punished for their rejection of His guidance.
