Quran-11:8 Surah Hud English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( Wala'in akharnaa 'anhumul 'azaaba ilaaa ummatim ma'doodatil la yaqoolunna maa yahbisuh; alaa yawma ya'teehim laisa masroofan 'anhum wa haaqa bihim maa kaanoo bihee yastahzi'oon )

8. And if We were to delay the punishment from them for a specified time [20], they would surely say, "What is keeping it back?" Know that on the day it comes to them, it will not be turned away from them, and they will be surrounded by the very punishment they used to mock [21]. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(8) And if We hold back from them the punishment for a limited time, they will surely say,[549] "What detains it?" Unquestionably, on the Day it comes to them, it will not be averted from them, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule. (Saheen International Translation)

20. From this we learn that the punishment is never removed from an infidel, though sometimes it may be delayed. This delay deceives the infidel who, as a result of it increases his transgression. Thus their asking of this question from the Holy Prophet was not on grounds of mockery but due to fear.
