📖 Commentary of Surah Yunus – Verse 109

"And follow that which is revealed [280] to you and have patience until Allah decrees. And He is the Best of Judges." (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

✅ [280] Obedience to Divine Revelation

This verse commands absolute adherence to Quranic teachings while demonstrating patience during trials. The instruction carries particular significance regarding interactions with non-Muslim communities:

  1. Military Policy:

    • Directs Muslims to combat Arabian polytheists while showing tolerance toward People of the Book (Jews and Christians)

  2. Jizyah Regulations:

    • Permissible only from People of the Book, not Arabian idolaters

    • Scholarly differences exist regarding polytheists outside Arabia:

      • Hanafi view: Permits collecting jizyah from them

      • Shafi'i view: Prohibits such collection

  3. Judicial Wisdom:

    • Emphasizes Allah's perfect judgment in all matters

    • Requires patience when implementing divine laws
