    📖 Commentary of Surah Yunus – Verse 91

    "Now? And you had been disobedient before and were among the corrupters [244]."

    ✅ [244] Pharaoh's Infidelity and Mischief

    In this verse, Allah questions Pharaoh’s late declaration of faith, emphasizing that he had previously been disobedient and a corrupter. "You had been disobedient" refers to his infidelity, while "you had been a mischief monger" refers to his active efforts to prevent others from embracing faith.

    An incident narrated in Tafseer Khazainul Irfaan illustrates the gravity of Pharaoh's actions. Hazrat Jibraeel (Alaihis Salaam) once brought Pharaoh a written question asking, "What is your verdict regarding a servant raised with the bounties of his Lord, who rebels and claims he is Lord?" Pharaoh’s response was that such a person should be drowned in the Red Sea.

    At the time of his drowning, Hazrat Jibraeel (Alaihis Salaam) appeared before Pharaoh and reminded him, "Do not scream, for you yourself suggested this punishment." This highlights the justice of Allah and the consequences of Pharaoh’s actions.
