Quran-10:68 Surah Yunus English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

قَالُواْ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَدٗاۗ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۖ هُوَ ٱلۡغَنِيُّۖ لَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِنۡ عِندَكُم مِّن سُلۡطَٰنِۭ بِهَٰذَآۚ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ

Transliteration:( Qaalut takhazal laahu waladan Subhaanahoo Huwal Ghaniyyu lahoo maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ard; in 'indakum min sultaanin bihaazaaa; a' taqooloona 'al allaahi maa laa ta'lamoon )

68. They (Christians) say: "Allah has begotten a son (188), Allah is Holy, the Self-sufficient (189). To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth (190), You have no authority for the claim. Do you say against Allah that which you know not (191)?

188. By this is meant like the polytheists who believe the angels as
daughters of Allah Almighty, the Christians believe lesa Alaihis Salaam as
son of Allah Almighty and the jews who believe Uzayr Alaihis Salaam as
son of Allah Almighty, while it is apparent the offspring is like the father.
To accept anyone to be like Allah Almighty is polytheism It should be
remembered that Christians, Jews and polytheists, in matters of beliefs are
virtually alike. but because the Christians, Jews, believe in a prophet, the
laws regarding them are as a result of this belief, lighter than those of the
polytheists, in that marriage with their women became permissible, and
they became known as People of the Book.
189. He has no end nor has He any fear. Children are there either to
perpetuate the offspring, or give strength to the fathers against the enemy.
190. In this verse the nonsensical prattle of the infidels is being refuted in
three ways.
The first is with is He" that He is pure from all imperfection He is free having
off-spring. because he is free and pure from mortality.
Secondly, through "To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens" He is the
Master of everything and father is not the master and owner of the
offspring.

Thirdly through "You have no authority" that you have no proof to
substantiate this noncensical prattle.
191. Believe in those attributes of Allah Almighty which you have come to
know through the Prophets as there is no room here for human intellect.

68. They say: “Allah has begotten a son.” Glory is to Him! He is Rich (free of all needs). His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. No warrant have you for this. Do you say against Allah what you know not. 69. Say: “Verily, those who invent a lie against Allah will never be successful.” 70. (A brief) enjoyment in this world! and then unto Us will be their return, then We shall make them taste the severest torment because they used to disbelieve.


Allah is Far Above taking a Wife or having Children

Allah criticizes those who claim that He has,

﴿وَلَداً سُبْحَـنَهُ هُوَ الْغَنِيُّ﴾

(…begotten a son. Glory is to Him! He is Rich (Free of all needs).) He is Greater than that and above it. He is Self-Sufficient, free of want or need of anything. Everything else is in desperate need of Him,

﴿لَهُ مَا فِى السَّمَـوَت وَمَا فِى الاٌّرْضِ﴾

(His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth.) So how can He have a son from what He has created Everything and everyone belongs to Him and is His servant.

﴿إِنْ عِندَكُمْ مِّن سُلْطَانٍ بِهَـذَآ﴾

(No warrant have you for this) Meaning, you have no proof for the lies and falsehood that you claim,

﴿أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ﴾

(Do you say against Allah what you know not.) This is a severe threat and a firm warning. Similarly, Allah threatened and said:

﴿وَقَالُواْ اتَّخَذَ الرَّحْمَـنُ وَلَداً – لَقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْئاً إِدّاً – تَكَادُ السَّمَـوَتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنشَقُّ الاٌّرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ الْجِبَالُ هَدّاً – أَن دَعَوْا لِلرَّحْمَـنِ وَلَداً – وَمَا يَنبَغِى لِلرَّحْمَـنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَداً – إِن كُلُّ مَن فِى السَّمَـوَتِ وَالاٌّرْضِ إِلاَّ آتِى الرَّحْمَـنِ عَبْداً – لَّقَدْ أَحْصَـهُمْ وَعَدّهُمْ عَدّاً – وَكُلُّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَـمَةِ فَرْداً ﴾

(And they say: “The Most Gracious has begotten a son.” Indeed you have brought forth a terribly evil thing. Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins, that they ascribe a son to the Most Gracious. But it is not suitable for the Most Gracious that He should beget a son. There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Gracious as a servant. Verily, He knows each one of them, and has counted them a full counting. And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection.) (19:88-95) Then Allah warned the liars that fabricated the claim that He has begotten a son. He warned that they will not succeed, never prospering in this world or in the Hereafter. In this world Allah will lead them, step-by-step, to their ruin. He will give them respite and put up with them for a while. He will allow them to have little enjoyment,

﴿ثُمَّ نَضْطَرُّهُمْ إِلَى عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ﴾

(then in the end We shall oblige them to (enter) a great torment.)(31:24) As Allah said here:

﴿مَتَـعٌ فِى الدُّنْيَا﴾

((A brief) enjoyment in this world!) meaning, only a short period,

﴿ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ﴾

(and then unto Us will be their return) on the Day of Resurrection;

﴿ثُمَّ نُذِيقُهُمُ الْعَذَابَ الشَّدِيدَ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْفُرُونَ﴾

(Then We shall make them taste the severest torment because they used to disbelieve. ) meaning, `We shall make them taste the painful punishment because of their Kufr and lies about Allah.’

(10:68) They say: ‘Allah has taken a son.[66] Glory be to Him.[67] He is self-sufficient! His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth.[68] Have you any authority to support (that Allah has taken a son)? Do you ascribe to Allah something of which you have no knowledge?

66. In the preceding passage people were taken to task for founding false religions on mere surmise and guesswork. In this passage the Christians and others, who believe that God has begotten a son, have been taken to task for this blasphemy which has no authority other than mere presumption.

67. The Arabic phrase Subhan-Allah is used to express astonishment at something apparently inexplicable. But its literal meaning is, Allah is All-Pure, and is absolutely free from any defect, blemish and flaw. Here it implies both these things. It expresses astonishment at their blasphemy that Allah has taken a son to Himself, and also refutes it, saying, Allah, being perfect in every way, does not stand in need of a son.

68. Three things have been put forward to refute their blasphemy:

(1) Allah is pure and without any defect.

(2) Allah is Self-sufficient in every way, and

(3) Allah is the Owner of everything in the heavens and the earth.

Let us now briefly explain how these three things refute that blasphemy.

It is obvious that a son is either sprung from the loins or is adopted. In the first case, such a conception of Allah amounts to this: He is mortal like every other being: therefore He stands in need of a spouse in order to propagate His offspring like other beings. In the second case, it shall have to be presumed that Allah stands in need of a son to inherit His Kingdom in order to make up, to some extent, for the deficiency that is caused by His childlessness. Or that Allah also cherished paternal love like human beings, and therefore, adopted as son one of the millions of His slaves.

Whatever be the case, it is obvious that the blasphemy shall have to be based on such a creed which presumes that Allah suffers from many defects, many weaknesses, many shortcomings and many wants. The Quran refutes all such blasphemous creeds, saying, He is All-Pure and therefore, is free from all such defects; and by, He is Self-sufficient, the Quran asserts that He does not suffer from any of those weaknesses and wants which impel the mortals to have children. Lastly, it says clearly that all the beings in the heavens and the earth belong to Him and that He has no particular relation with anyone of them so as to make such a one His son or only son or heir apparent. Though it is true that Allah loves some of His slaves more than the others because of their excellences, it does not in any way mean that He raises such a one from the rank of a slave to that of a partner in His Godhead. For, the highest rank He bestows on them is that they are Allah’s friends, “Who believe and fear Allah, (and therefore they) shall have no occasion for fear and sorrow. There is nothing but good news for them in this world and in the Hereafter (Surah Yunus, ayat 62-63).
