The summary/theme of the surah Al-An'am:

This Surah was revealed in the Holy City of Mecca, the emphasis in this chapter is on monotheism or the Oneness of God. Seventy times the name of God, Allah, is mentioned in this chapter, and idolatry and polytheism are strongly condemned.

Lesson learned from Al-An'am:

  1. Allāh sent many nations before us but when they disbelieved, He removed them and sent others.
  2. Those who mock the punishments of Allāh will be faced with the same punishments they would mock at when warned of.
  3. All things disputed in this world will become clear on the Day of Judgement.
  4. Everyone believes in Allāh when faced with difficulties, but when that difficulty is lifted, becomes neglectful of Him.
  5. If you try following the opinion of the majority of people on Earth, you’ll stray from the right path.
  6. Leave all types of sin.
  7. Allāh is best aware of whom to bestow with prophethood.
  8. Don’t kill your offspring in fear of poverty; Allāh alone is the Sustainer. He sustains you and them.
  9. When measuring and weighing, do not deceive people.
  10.   The Qur’ān is blessed, and practicing upon it attracts the Mercy of Allāh.
  11.  Whoever performs a single good deed, will be rewarded ten-fold, while a sin will only be recompensed for its like.
  12. Allāh gave some of us a lower rank than others so that He may test us with what He gave us.

Transliteration:( Bal iyyaahu tad'oona fa yakshifu maa tad'oona ilaihi in shaaa'a wa tansawna maa tushrikoon )

41. But, you will call Him alone. So, if He pleases He would remove (80), that for which you call Him, and you would forget the associates (81).

Transliteration:( Wa laqad arsalnaaa ilaaa umamim min qablika fa akhaznaahum bil ba'saaa'i waddarraaa'i la'allahum yata darra'oon )

42. And indeed We sent Messengers towards communities before you. Then seized with misery and hardship so that they might beseech (82).

Transliteration:( Falaw laaa iz jaaa'ahum ba'sunaa tadarra'oo wa laakin qasat quloobuhum wa zaiyana lahumush Shaitaanu maa kaanoo ya'maloon )

43. Why did it not happen that when Our punishment came upon them, they would have beseeched? (83), But, their hearts were hardened and the devil made fair to them their deeds in their eyes (84).

Transliteration:( Faquti'a daabirul qawmil lazeena zalamoo; walhamdu lillaahi Rabbil 'aalameen )

45. Then the unjust (89) were uprooted completely. And all praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds (90).

46. Please declare (O Beloved Prophet): Have you considered if Allah should take away your ears and eyes and seal up your hearts (91). Then who is the God other than Allah Who could bring these things back (92) to you? See how in different manners We explain the signs, but they turn away their faces.

Transliteration:( Wa maa nursilul mursaleena illaa mubashshireena wa munzireena faman aamana wa aslaha falaa khawfun 'alaihim wa laa hum yahzanoon )

48. We do not send the Messengers but to give glad tidings and to warn (94). Then those who believed and amended themselves, to them there is no fear, nor any grief.

Transliteration:( Wallazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa yamassuhumul 'azaabu bimaa kaanoo yafsuqoon )

49. And those who falsified Our signs, the punishment shall reach them because of their disobedience (95).

Transliteration:( Qul laaa aqoolu lakum 'indee khazaaa'inul laahi wa laaa a'lamul ghaiba wa laaa aqoolu lakum innee malakun in attabi'u illaa maa yoohaaa ilaiy; qul hal yastawil a'maa walbaseer; afalaa tatafakkaroon )
