Transliteration:( Faquti'a daabirul qawmil lazeena zalamoo; walhamdu lillaahi Rabbil 'aalameen )
"Then the unjust were completely uprooted [89]. And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds." [90]
This verse refers to how those upon whom Divine punishment descended were entirely destroyed, leaving behind no future generations. Those who were transformed into animals (such as apes or pigs) were completely eradicated. Therefore, modern-day animals are not their descendants. The severing of their lineage was part of the Divine judgment, demonstrating the severity of their transgression.
The verse closes with praise to Allah, teaching that the destruction of tyrants and disbelievers is a cause for gratitude, as it signifies the victory of truth. The Holy Prophet ﷺ prostrated upon the death of Abu Jahl and instructed fasting on the Day of Ashura, as Pharaoh was destroyed on that day. Thus, the death of a believer is met with “To Allah we belong”, while the death of an oppressor or enemy of Islam is met with “All praise is due to Allah”—a sign of relief and Divine justice.
