Quran-6:42 Surah Al-anam English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمَمٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُم بِٱلۡبَأۡسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَضَرَّعُونَ

Transliteration:( Wa laqad arsalnaaa ilaaa umamim min qablika fa akhaznaahum bil ba'saaa'i waddarraaa'i la'allahum yata darra'oon )

42. And indeed, We sent Messengers to communities before you. Then We seized them with hardship and suffering so that they might humble themselves [82]. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(42) And We have already sent [messengers] to nations before you, [O Muḥammad]; then We seized them with poverty and hardship that perhaps they might humble themselves [to Us]. (Saheen International Translation)

📖 Commentary of Surah Al-An’aam – Verse 42

"And indeed, We sent Messengers to communities before you. Then We seized them with hardship and suffering so that they might humble themselves." [82]


✅ Hardship as a Mercy to Awaken Hearts [82]

This verse highlights a Divine pattern—that Allah sent Messengers to earlier nations, and when they rejected the truth, He gripped them with hardship and suffering. These trials were not meant to destroy them, but to awaken their hearts and lead them to humility and submission. From this we learn that worldly difficulties are, in reality, a form of Allah’s mercy, sent to break pride, nurture humility, and open the path toward repentance and faith.
