Al-Anbiya (Arabic: الأنبياء, ’al-’anbiy'’; meaning: "The Prophets") is the 21st chapter (Surah) of the Quran with 112 verses (Ayat).

The summary/theme of the surah Al-Anbiya:

 The Holy Prophet and the chiefs of Makkah were involved in the conflict at the time of its revelation, and this Surah deals with objections and doubts concerning his Prophethood, the Doctrines of Tauhid, and the Hereafter.

Lesson learned from surah Al-Anbiya:

 

  1. The Day of Reckoning is drawing closer while we are still wandering in neglect.  
  2. Ask the people who know if you yourself don’t know.  
  3. Allah's cannot be questioned about what He does, whereas we will be questioned over our actions.  
  4. Every soul shall taste death.  
  5. The human is intrinsically hasty and impatient.
  6. Allah's created every living thing from water.  
  7. There will be thorough weighing of deeds on the Day of Judgement. 
  8. AyyÅ«b عليه السلام was afflicted with a serious illness, but instead of asking Allah's to remove it, he merely mentioned it and said, ‘You are the most merciful from those who show mercy.’ He couldn’t bring himself to ask Allah's to remove it: such was his disposition.  
  9. Allah's sent Muḥammad ï·º as a mercy for the worlds.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

وَلَقَدِ ٱسۡتُهۡزِئَ بِرُسُلٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِٱلَّذِينَ سَخِرُواْ مِنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ

Transliteration:( Wa laqadis tuhzi'a bi-Rusulim min qablika fahaaqa billazeena sakhiroo minhum maa kaanoo bihee yastahzi'oon (section 3) )
41. And indeed, the Messengers before you were [64] mocked, and then the mockery [65] of the scoffers took themselves in its fold.

قُلۡ مَن يَكۡلَؤُكُم بِٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعۡرِضُونَ

Transliteration:( Qul mai yakla 'ukum billaili wannahaari minar Rahmaan; bal hum 'an zikri Rabbihim mu'ridoon )
42. Say, 'who keeps watch upon you from the Most Affectionate [66] by night and by day?" Yet they have turned their faces from remembrance of their Lord [67].

أَمۡ لَهُمۡ ءَالِهَةٞ تَمۡنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَاۚ لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ نَصۡرَ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا يُصۡحَبُونَ

Transliteration:( Am lahum aalihatun tamna'uhum min dooninaa; laa yastatee'oona nasra anfusihim wa laa hum minna yus-haboon )
43. Have they some gods who protect them besides us? They cannot protect [68] their own souls, and nor against Us may they have company with [69]

بَلۡ مَتَّعۡنَا هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَءَابَآءَهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡعُمُرُۗ أَفَلَا يَرَوۡنَ أَنَّا نَأۡتِي ٱلۡأَرۡضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنۡ أَطۡرَافِهَآۚ أَفَهُمُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ

Transliteration:( Bal matta'naa haaa'ulaaa'i wa aabaaa'ahum hattaa taala 'alaihimul 'umur; afalaa yarawna anna na'til arda nanqusuhaa min atraafihaa; afahumul ghaaliboon )
44. Nay, We allowed them and their fathers to carry on, until their life grew long [70] upon them. Do they then not observe that We are coming gradually reducing the land from its outlying borders? [71] Will they then overcome?

قُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أُنذِرُكُم بِٱلۡوَحۡيِۚ وَلَا يَسۡمَعُ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا مَا يُنذَرُونَ

Transliteration:( Qul innamaaa unzirukum bilwahyi; wa laa yasma'us summud du'aaa 'a izaa maa yunzaroon )
45. Say, I only warn you by the revelation [72]; and the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned [73].

وَلَئِن مَّسَّتۡهُمۡ نَفۡحَةٞ مِّنۡ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ يَٰوَيۡلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

Transliteration:( Wa la'in massat hum nafhatun min 'azaabi Rabbika la yaqoolunna yaawailanaaa innnaa kunnaa zaalimeen )
46. And if a breath of the torment of your Lord touches them then necessarily, they will say, 'Oh! Alas for us [74]. indeed, we were unjust.

وَنَضَعُ ٱلۡمَوَٰزِينَ ٱلۡقِسۡطَ لِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ فَلَا تُظۡلَمُ نَفۡسٞ شَيۡـٔٗاۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِثۡقَالَ حَبَّةٖ مِّنۡ خَرۡدَلٍ أَتَيۡنَا بِهَاۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَٰسِبِينَ

Transliteration:( Wa nada'ul mawaazeenal qista li Yawmil Qiyaamati falaa tuzlamu nafsun shai'aa; wa in kaana misqaala habbatim min khardalin atainaa bihaa; wa kafaa binaa haasibeen )
47. And We shall set up the scales of justice for the Day of Judgement [75], that no soul shall be wronged [76] anything. And if there be anything, even equal to a grain of a mustard seed, then We shall bring it. And We are sufficient to take into account (77).

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ ٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ وَضِيَآءٗ وَذِكۡرٗا لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ

Transliteration:( Wa laqad aatainaa Moosa wa haaroonal Furqaana wa diyaa'anw wa zikral lilmuttaqeen )
48. And indeed, We gave Musa and Haroon judgement [78], and the light and admonition those who fear God.

ٱلَّذِينَ يَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَهُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ مُشۡفِقُونَ

Transliteration:( Allazeena yakhshawna Rabbahum bilghaibi wa hum minas Saa'ati mushfiqoon )
49. Those who fear [79], their Lord, Unseen, and who are dreadful of the Hour.

وَهَٰذَا ذِكۡرٞ مُّبَارَكٌ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُۚ أَفَأَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ

Transliteration:( Wa haazaa Zikrum Mubaarakun anzalnaah; afa antum lahoo munkiroon (section 4) )
50. And it is the blessed admonition that We have sent [80] down. Are you the deniers of it?
