Al-Fath (Arabic: الفتح, al-fatḥ; meaning: "Victory" , "Triumph") is the 48th chapter (surah) of the Qur'an with 29 verses (ayat).

The summary/theme of the Surah  Al-Fath : 

As the Prophet was making his way to Madinah after concluding the Treaty of Hudeybiyah with the disbelievers of Makkah in Dhil-Q'adah, A. H. 6, this Surah was revealed. Through the Hudeybiyah treaty, Allah granted the Muslims a manifest victory.

Lesson learned from Surah  Al-Fath : 

  1. Allāh has the armies of the heavens and the earth at His disposal.  
  2. Allāh sent the Prophet ﷺ as a witness, as one who gives glad-tidings, and as a warner.  
  3. Our duty towards the Prophet ﷺ is to believe in him, support him and revere him.  
  4. Allāh has declared His pleasure for those Ṣaḥābah رضي الله عنهم who made the pledge under the tree at Ḥudaybīyah.  
  5. Muḥammad ﷺ is the Messenger of Allāh.  
  6. The Ṣaḥābah رضي الله عنهم were justifyably harsh against the disbelievers, merciful amongst themselves.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

إِنَّا فَتَحۡنَا لَكَ فَتۡحٗا مُّبِينٗا
 Transliteration:( Innaa fatahnaa laka Fatham Mubeenaa )

1. undoubtedly. We have granted you a clear victory(1).

2 .That Allah may forgive (2) sins of formers, and of your later (3) account of you, and may complete is favours (4) upon you, and may guide you to the Straight Path (5).

 Transliteration:( Huwal lazeee anzalas sakeenata fee quloobil mu'mineena liyazdaadooo eemaanamma'a eemaanihim; wa lillaahi junoodus samawaati wal ard; wa kaanal laahu 'Aleeman Hakeemaa )

4. It is He Who sends down satisfaction(7) in the hearts of the believers so that they may add to their belief (8). And to Allah belongs all the multitudes (9) of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is All-Knowing, the Wise (10).

لِّيُدۡخِلَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ جَنَّـٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَيُكَفِّرَ عَنۡهُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمۡۚ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ فَوۡزًا عَظِيمٗا
 Transliteration:( Liyudkhilal mu'mineena walmu'minaati jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa wa yukaffira 'anhum saiyi aatihim; wa kaana zaalika 'indal laahi fawzan 'azeemaa )

5. That He may cause the believing men and the believing women to enter the gardens (11) underneath which streams flow, to reside therein, (12) acquitting them of their evils. And this is a great success (13) in the Sight of Allah.

وَيُعَذِّبَ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱلۡمُنَٰفِقَٰتِ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكَٰتِ ٱلظَّآنِّينَ بِٱللَّهِ ظَنَّ ٱلسَّوۡءِۚ عَلَيۡهِمۡ دَآئِرَةُ ٱلسَّوۡءِۖ وَغَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَعَنَهُمۡ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمۡ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَسَآءَتۡ مَصِيرٗا
 Transliteration:( Wa yu'azzibal munaafiqeena walmunaafiqaati wal mushrikeena walmushrikaatiz zaaanneena billaahi zannas saw'; 'alaihim daaa'iratus saw'i wa ghadibal laahu 'alaihim wa la'anahum wa a'adda lahum jahannama wa saaa' at maseeraa )

6. That He may punish the hypocrites, men and women, and the polytheist men and women (14) who have evil (15) thoughts concerning Allah. On them is the evil turn (16) of fortune and the wrath of Allah. And He has cursed them and has prepared hell for them. And that is an evil destination.

7. And to Allah belongs everything that is in the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Dignified, the Wise (17).

9. So that people should believe (20) in Allah and His Messenger, and honor him (21), and that you may glorify Him in the morning and the evening (22).

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَايِعُونَكَ إِنَّمَا يُبَايِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ يَدُ ٱللَّهِ فَوۡقَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡۚ فَمَن نَّكَثَ فَإِنَّمَا يَنكُثُ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَنۡ أَوۡفَىٰ بِمَا عَٰهَدَ عَلَيۡهُ ٱللَّهَ فَسَيُؤۡتِيهِ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا
 Transliteration:( Innal lazeena yubaayi'oonaka innamaa yubaayi'oonal laaha yadul laahi fawqa aydeehim; faman nakasa fainnamaa yankusu 'alaa nafsihee wa man awfaa bimaa 'aahada 'alaihullaaha fasa yu'teehi ajran 'azeemaa (section 1) )

10. Surely, allegiance to those you indeed swear, swear allegiance to Allah. The Hand of Allah (23) is above their hands. But whoso breaks his oath, he breaks it his own (24) loss, and whoso fulfill the promise which he had made with Allah, then Allah shall soon give him a great reward (25).
