📖 Commentary of Verse 4 (Surah Al-Qiyamah)

“Yes, indeed! We are able to restore even his fingertips.”

Affirmation of Divine Power[4]
This verse is a powerful affirmation from Allah (اللَّهُ ), declaring that not only can He gather the disintegrated bones of a human, but He can even recreate the most intricate and unique parts of the body — like the fingertips, which include the fine lines and fingerprints that distinguish each individual. This level of detail showcases the perfect knowledge and power of the Creator.

Response to the Disbelievers' Doubt
Disbelievers found it hard to believe that bones could be reassembled after death. In response, Allah (اللَّهُ ) goes even further by stating that He can restore even the tiny phalanges, every hair strand, and every part of the human body — whether large or small. This shuts down their argument and proves the limitless capability of the Divine.

Why Fingertips Are Mentioned Specifically
The fingertips represent both precision and identity. Today, we know each human fingerprint is unique, making this verse even more remarkable in its depth. It reflects that resurrection will be complete — with every detail of the human body exactly restored as it was.

Please refer to Surah Qiyamah ayat 1 which provides the complete commentary from verse 1 through 15.

(75:4) Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips.[4]

Ala-Maududi

(75:4) Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips.[4]

4. That is, not to speak of building up your skeleton once again by gathering together the major bones? We are able to make whole the most delicate parts of your body, even your finger tips, as they used to be before.

(4) Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips.
