Transliteration:( Wa katabnaa lahoo fil alwaahi minkulli shai'im maw'izaanw wa tafseelal likulli shai'in fakhuzhaa biquwwatinw wa'mur qawmaka ya'khuzoo bi ahsanihaa; sa'ooreekum daaral faasiqeen )
And We wrote for him on the Tablets every instruction and details of everything (314) and said: "O Musa! Observe them with steadfastness and advise your people to follow what is best in them (315). Soon I shall show the abode of those who are disobedient" (316).
Allah inscribed on the Tablets of the Torah not only commandments but also knowledge of the unseen. These Tablets were made of topaz, carrying immense spiritual weight. However, when they fell from Musa’s hands, only the commandments remained, while the unseen knowledge was lifted. As Allah later affirms in the Qur'an: “He took up the Tablets; in their writing was guidance and mercy.” (Surah A‘raaf, 7:154). Though details are not elaborated here, the event emphasizes the preciousness and depth of revealed scripture.
Allah instructed Musa to observe the revelation with steadfastness and to encourage his people to follow the best within it. This means that all parts of the Torah are beneficial, and the people should apply its wisdom wholeheartedly. It also confirms that from divine revelation, one can derive both practical laws and mystical insights—especially those related to Prophetic knowledge and inner guidance.
Allah then hints at a future journey where Musa and his people would witness the ruins of past disobedient nations—such as the abandoned dwellings of Pharaoh, or the desolate towns of ‘Aad and Thamud. These ruins stand as visible warnings of what happens when divine guidance is rejected, reminding believers to remain obedient and grateful.

101. The Bible categorically mentions that the tablets were of stone. The act of writing on these tablets is attributed in both the Qur’an and the Bible, to God. Nonetheless, it is not possible to ascertain whether the actual act of writing was as performed by God exercising His power directly, or by God in the sense of His assignment of the task to some angel or to Moses (cf. Exodus 31: 18, 32: 15-16; and Deuteronomyi, 5: 6-22).
102 The Israelites were asked to hold fast to the Law to follow it in its plain meaning, a meaning which can he grasped by an ordinary man of sound heart and good intent with the help of his common sense. This stipulation was added in order to discourage the chicanery and hair-splitting to which lawyers resort in order to accommodate the crooked aims of the people. The warning was necessary to emphasize that holding fast to the Law was not to be equated with following the chicanery of the lawyers.
103. The Israelites were told that on their way they would come across the ruins of earlier nations who had refused to turn to God and who had persisted in their evil way’s. Observing those ruins would he instructive insofar as they eloquently spoke of the tragic end that meets those who indulge in such iniquity .
