The summary / Theme of the Surah Al-Baqara

The Cow - Al Baqarah (The title of this surah refers to an argument between Moses and the Israelites over a cow they should sacrifice in order to make known the murder of a slain man. This is the longest of all the surah, numbering 286 ayah or verses.

Lesson Learned from Surah Al-Baqara

  1. It is sometimes better not to ask too many questions when instructed to do something. The Jews did this and ended up in trouble.
  2. Be grateful for what you have. 
  3. Don’t do anything that resembles the disbelievers, or will lead them to take your actions as legislation to attack the Dīn. In short, the principle of Sadd-Adh-Dharā‘i’.
  4. Whatever good you send forth for the Hereafter, you will find it there safe and appreciated by Allāh.
  5. You shall never be able to please the Jews and the Christians unless you join them in their religion. 
  6. The relationship between Allāh and the Prophet ﷺ was immensely enviable. 
  7. Ṣabr (Patience) has great virtue: Allāh showers the patient with mercy and guidance.
  8. Eat ḥalāl
  9. Constantly ponder over the creation of Allāh and His blessings, and remember Him. 
  10. There are constant severe warnings for disbelief in the Qur’ān.  
  11.  The status of Shuhadā is indeed great. 
  12. Will should be made.  
  13. The aim of fasting is to create taqwā in the hearts of the believers.  
  14. Regularly make the following du‘ā, especially at the time of Ḥajj
  15.  رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِى ٱلدُّنۡيَا حَسَنَةً۬ وَفِى ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً۬ وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ 
  16. Enter into Islām in its totality; don’t pick and choose from the Dīn.  
  17. Allāh is ever ready to accept the du‘ās of His servants.  
  18. There are times when we say we are ready to do a certain thing but when that becomes binding on us, we back out. This is reprehensible behavior.
  19. The Help of Allāh will come, albeit sometimes belatedly.  
  20. Allāh does as He wishes; He is not accountable for His actions.  
  21. Spending: the do’s, don’ts, and virtues.
  22. Refrain from asking people for your needs; remain independent from the people, as special praise has been reserved for those who do, despite being in need.
  23. Stay away from interest, as Allāh declares war on those who deal in interest. 
  24. Loans should be written down and dealt with properly.  
  25. Allāh does not make obligatory upon us those things which we are incapable of carrying out. 

Recitation Benefits of Surah Fatiha:

  2. Recite Surah Fatiha 40 times and blow on the patient who is suffering from high fever, and also blow on water and make him drink it, In sha Allah fever will go away.
  3. Recite Surah Fatiha 41 times with complete Bismillah every time between farz and sunnah of Fajar salat and blow on the patient who has any serious disease, and also blow on water and make him/her drink it, Insha’ALLAH, Patient will get Shifa. 
  4. Recite Surat Fatiha 7 times while holding head of the patient who have headache For headache, and repeat the verse no 4 (iyak anaubdu wa iyak anastaeen) thrice, every time and then blow. Insha’ALLAH, Patient will get Shifa.
  5. Another benefits of Surah Fatiha Recitation on first night of new moon with Bismillah every time, 30 times, it will avoid all the evils for the whole month, total Protection.
  6. Recite Surah Fatiha 100 times with Bismillah every time to fulfill any Hajat or wish.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ لَا تُفۡسِدُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَا نَحۡنُ مُصۡلِحُونَ

Transliteration:( Wa izaa qeela lahum laa tufsidoo fil ardi qaalooo innamaa nahnu muslihoon )

11. And when it is said to them, create not mischief on the earth, they say; "Nay, we are but reformists".(27)

أَلَآ إِنَّهُمۡ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدُونَ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَشۡعُرُونَ

Transliteration:( Alaaa innahum humul mufsidoona wa laakil laa yash'uroon )

12. Beware! Surely, it is they who are the mischief-makers, but they perceive not.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ ءَامِنُواْ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلنَّاسُ قَالُوٓاْ أَنُؤۡمِنُ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُۗ أَلَآ إِنَّهُمۡ هُمُ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَعۡلَمُونَ

Transliteration:( Wa izaa qeela lahum aaminoo kamaaa aamanan naasu qaalooo anu'minu kamaaa aamanas sufahaaa'; alaaa innahum humus sufahaaa'u wa laakil laa ya'lamoon )

13. And when it is said to them "Believe as others have believed", they say; "Shall we believe as fools believe?" Beware it is they who are the fools, but they know not.(28)

وَإِذَا لَقُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ شَيَٰطِينِهِمۡ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا مَعَكُمۡ إِنَّمَا نَحۡنُ مُسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ

Transliteration:( Wa izaa laqul lazeena aamanoo qaalooo aamannaa wa izaa khalaw ilaa shayaateenihim qaalooo innaa ma'akum innamaa nahnu mustahzi'oon )

14. And when they meet believers, they say; "We believe", and when they are alone with their Shaitaan, (29) they say; "Surely, we are with you, we are only mocking at them".

ٱللَّهُ يَسۡتَهۡزِئُ بِهِمۡ وَيَمُدُّهُمۡ فِي طُغۡيَٰنِهِمۡ يَعۡمَهُونَ

Transliteration:( Allahu yastahzi'u bihim wa yamudduhum fee tughyaanihim ya'mahoon )

15. Allah mocks (30) at them (befitting His Dignity) and leaves them to wander about in their transgression.(31)

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشۡتَرَوُاْ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةَ بِٱلۡهُدَىٰ فَمَا رَبِحَت تِّجَٰرَتُهُمۡ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُهۡتَدِينَ

Transliteration:( Ulaaa'ikal lazeenash tara wud dalaalata bilhudaa famaa rabihat tijaaratuhum wa maa kaanoo muhtadeen )

16.They are those people who purchased error for guidance(32) but their trade earned them no profit, and surely they did not know the right path of guidance.

مَثَلُهُمۡ كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِي ٱسۡتَوۡقَدَ نَارٗا فَلَمَّآ أَضَآءَتۡ مَا حَوۡلَهُۥ ذَهَبَ ٱللَّهُ بِنُورِهِمۡ وَتَرَكَهُمۡ فِي ظُلُمَٰتٖ لَّا يُبۡصِرُونَ

Transliteration:( Masaluhum kamasalillazis tawqada naaran falammaaa adaaa'at maa hawlahoo zahabal laahu binoorihim wa tarakahum fee zulumaatil laa yubsiroon )

17. Their example is like the one who kindled a fire, so when it lit up all around him, Allah took away their light and left them in darkness, where nothing is seen.(33)

صُمُّۢ بُكۡمٌ عُمۡيٞ فَهُمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ

Transliteration:( Summum bukmun 'umyun fahum laa yarji'oon )

18. They are deaf, dumb and blind, so they shall not return (34).

أَوۡ كَصَيِّبٖ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فِيهِ ظُلُمَٰتٞ وَرَعۡدٞ وَبَرۡقٞ يَجۡعَلُونَ أَصَٰبِعَهُمۡ فِيٓ ءَاذَانِهِم مِّنَ ٱلصَّوَٰعِقِ حَذَرَ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۚ وَٱللَّهُ مُحِيطُۢ بِٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

Transliteration:( Aw kasaiyibim minas samaaa'i feehi zulumaatunw wa ra'dunw wa barq, yaj'aloona asaabi'ahum feee aazaanihim minas sawaa'iqi hazaral mawt' wallaahu muheetum bilkaafireen )

19. Or like a heavy rainstorm pouring from the sky, wherein is darkness (35) and thunder and lightning. They thrust their fingers in their ears because of the thunderclaps, for fear of death and Allah has encompassed the disbelievers.(36)

يَكَادُ ٱلۡبَرۡقُ يَخۡطَفُ أَبۡصَٰرَهُمۡۖ كُلَّمَآ أَضَآءَ لَهُم مَّشَوۡاْ فِيهِ وَإِذَآ أَظۡلَمَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ قَامُواْۚ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمۡعِهِمۡ وَأَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ

Transliteration:( Yakaadul barqu yakhtafu absaarahum kullamaaa adaaa'a lahum mashaw feehi wa izaaa azlama 'alaihim qaamoo; wa law shaaa'al laahu lazahaba bisam'ihim wa absaarihim; innal laaha 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer (section 2) )

20. It so seems that the lightning would snatch away their sight (37) whenever there is some flashing they walk therein and when it is dark, they stand still, and if Allah willed, He would have taken away their sense of hearing and sight. Surely Allah has the power to do everything.(38)
