Lesson Learned from Surah Al-Baqara

  1. It is sometimes better not to ask too many questions when instructed to do something. The Jews did this and ended up in trouble.
  2. Be grateful for what you have.
  3. Don’t do anything that resembles the disbelievers, or will lead them to take your actions as legislation to attack the Da«n. In short, the principle of Sadd-Adh-Dhara ‘i’.
  4. Whatever good you send forth for the Hereafter, you will find it there safe and appreciated by Allah.
  5. You shall never be able to please the Jews and the Christians unless you join them in their religion.
  6. The relationship between Allah and the Prophet ï·º was immensely enviable.
  7. á¹¢abr (Patience) has great virtue: Allah showers the patient with mercy and guidance.
  8. Eat ḥala l
  9. Constantly ponder over the creation of Allah and His blessings, and remember Him.
  10. There are constant severe warnings for disbelief in the Qur’a n.
  11.  The status of Shuhada is indeed great.
  12. Will should be made.
  13. The aim of fasting is to create taqwa in the hearts of the believers.
  14. Regularly make the following du‘a , especially at the time of Ḥajj
  16. Enter into Isla m in its totality; don’t pick and choose from the Da«n.
  17. Allah is ever ready to accept the du‘a s of His servants.
  18. There are times when we say we are ready to do a certain thing but when that becomes binding on us, we back out. This is reprehensible behavior.
  19. The Help of Allah will come, albeit sometimes belatedly.
  20. Allah does as He wishes; He is not accountable for His actions.
  21. Spending: the do’s, don’ts, and virtues.
  22. Refrain from asking people for your needs; remain independent from the people, as special praise has been reserved for those who do, despite being in need.
  23. Stay away from interest, as Allah declares war on those who deal in interest.
  24. Loans should be written down and dealt with properly.
  25. Allah does not make obligatory upon us those things which we are incapable of carrying out.

Transliteration:( Wa lammaa jaaa'ahum Rasoolum min 'indil laahi musaddiqul limaa ma'ahum nabaza fareequm minal lazeena ootul Kitaaba Kitaabal laahi waraaa'a zuhoorihim ka annahum laa ya'lamoon )
101. And when a Messenger (Rasool) from Allah [191] came to them confirming that which was with them, a party [192] from among the people of the Book (Scripture) threw the Scripture of Allah behind their backs [193] as if they did not know (what it contained). [194]

Transliteration:( Wattaba'oo maa tatlush Shayaateenu 'alaa mulki Sulaimaana wa maa kafara Sulaimaanu wa laakinnash Shayatteena kafaroo yu'al limoonan naasas sihra wa maaa unzila 'alal malakaini bi Baabila Haaroota wa Maaroot; wa maa yu'allimaani min ahadin hattaa yaqoolaaa innamaa nahnu fitnatun falaa takfur fayata'al lamoona minhumaa maa yufarriqoona bihee bainal mar'i wa zawjih; wa maa hum bidaaarreena bihee min ahadin illaa bi-iznillah; wa yata'allamoona maa yadurruhum wa laa yanfa'uhum; wa laqad 'alimoo lamanish taraahu maa lahoo fil Aakhirati min khalaaq; wa labi'sa maa sharaw biheee anfusahum; law kaanoo ya'lamoon )
102. And they followed (instead) what the Shaitaan had recited during the reign of Sulaiman [195]. It was not Sulaiman who disbelieved, but the Shaitaan who disbelieved [196], teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut [197]. And they (the two angels) do not teach anyone anything unless they say: "We are merely a test. Therefore, do not be infidels" [198]. And they learn from them that which causes separation [199] between husband and wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah. And they learn what will harm them and not benefit them [200]. And certainly, they knew whosoever traded in it (magic) will have no share [201] in the Hereafter. And surely, most evil is that for which they have sold themselves, if only they had known.

Transliteration:( Wa law annahum aamanoo wattaqaw lamasoobatum min 'indillaahi khairun law kaanoo ya'lamoon )
103. And if they had believed and been mindful of Allah, the reward from Allah would have been far better [202], if only they had known.
Topic Discussed: Believe   | Reward(Word)   | Allah(Word)   | Righteous(Word)   |

Transliteration:( Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa taqooloo raa'inaa wa qoolun zurnaa wasma'oo; wa lilkaafireena 'azaabun aleem )
104. O you who believe! Say not (to Allah's Messenger) "Ra'ina" [203] but say "Unzurna" [204]. Listen attentively from the beginning [205], and for the disbelievers, there is a painful punishment.

Transliteration:( Maa yawaddul lazeena kafaroo min ahlil kitaabi wa lal mushrikeena ai-yunazzala 'alaikum min khairim mir Rabbikum; wallaahu yakhtassu birahmatihee mai-yashaaa; wallaahu zul fadlil'azeem )
105. Those who disbelieve from the people of the Book [206] or the polytheists do not wish that any good should be sent down to you from your Lord. But Allah chooses for His Mercy whom He wills, and Allah is the Possessor of Great Bounty.

Transliteration:( Maa nansakh min aayatin aw nunsihaa na-ti bikhairim minhaaa aw mislihaaa; alam ta'lam annal laaha 'alaa kulli shai'in qadeer )
106. When We abrogate [207] a verse or cause it to be forgotten, We bring forth one better [208] than it or similar to it [209]. Do you not know that Allah has the power to do everything? [210]

Transliteration:( Alam ta'lam annallaaha lahoo mulkus samaawaati wal ard; wa maa lakum min doonil laahi minw waliyyinw wa laa naseer )
107.Do you not know that to Allah belongs the kingdom [211] of the heavens and the earth, and besides Allah, you have no protector nor any helper? [212]

Transliteration:( Am tureedoona an tas'aloo Rasoolakum kamaa su'ila Moosa min qabl; wa mai yatabaddalil kufra bil eemaani faqad dalla sawaaa'as sabeel )
108. Would you seek to question your Rasool (Muhammad) as Musa was questioned before? [213] And whoever exchanges faith for infidelity has certainly strayed from the Straight Path. [214]

Transliteration:( Wadda kaseerum min ahlil kitaabi law yaruddoo nakum mim ba'di eemaanikum kuffaaran hasadam min 'indi anfusihim mim ba'di maa tabaiyana lahumul haqqu fa'foo wasfahoo hattaa yaa tiyallaahu bi amrih; innal laaha 'alaa kulli shai'in qadeer )
109.Many of the people of the Book (Scripture) wished they could turn you back to disbelief after you have believed, on account of envy [215] from themselves (even) after the truth has become manifest to them. So pardon them and overlook them until Allah delivers His Command [216]. Surely, Allah has power over everything.

Transliteration:( Wa aqeemus salaata wa aatuz zakaah; wa maa tuqaddimoo li anfusikum min khairin tajidoohu 'indal laah; innal laaha bimaa ta'maloona baseer )
110. And establish Prayer and pay Zakaat [217]. Whatever good you send forward for yourselves, you will find it with Allah [218]. Indeed, Allah is seeing over what you do [219].
