Transliteration:( Summum bukmun 'umyun fahum laa yarji'oon )
"They are deaf, dumb, and blind, so they will not return. [34]"
This verse teaches that those who ignore Allah’s signs are as if blind, those who refuse to listen to the Qur’an are deaf, and those who do not glorify Allah or praise the Prophet ﷺ are dumb. These faculties, created for divine remembrance, are rendered useless when misused.
Hence, such people are spiritually dead, while martyrs are called truly alive.
Moreover, it indicates that enemies of the Prophet’s Companions are so far from truth that returning to guidance becomes nearly impossible, as Allah has sealed their fate with:
"So they are not to return." (Surah 2:18)
