The summary/theme of the Surah Al-Isra

 The disbelievers of Makkah are admonished to take lessons from the miserable end of the Israelites and other communities and mend their ways from this Surah, which is a wonderful blend of warning, admonition, and instruction. In this Surah important event has been mentioned regarding the night journey of our Holy Prophet to the heavens and meeting with Allah

Lesson learned from Surah Al-Isra

  1. On the Day of Judgement, everyone shall be handed their book of deeds, which will have every minute detail of their lives recorded. They themselves will be able to envisage their outcome that day. 
  2. Whoever strives solely behind the luxuries of this world, Allāh will give them whatever He wishes to, not what they themselves want, and then doom them to Jahannam.
  3. Whoever strives to acquire the luxuries of the Hereafter properly, Allāh will appreciate his/her efforts. 
  4. Each person will be responsible for his/her own burdens on the Day of Qiyāmah; not for those of others.  
  5. Be good to parents.  
  6. Make this du‘ā regularly for your parents:

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَىٰ تِسۡعَ ءَايَٰتِۭ بَيِّنَٰتٖۖ فَسۡـَٔلۡ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ إِذۡ جَآءَهُمۡ فَقَالَ لَهُۥ فِرۡعَوۡنُ إِنِّي لَأَظُنُّكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ مَسۡحُورٗا
 Transliteration:( Wa laqad aatainaa Moosaa tis'a Aayaatim baiyinaatin fas'al Baneee Israaa'eela iz jaaa'ahum faqaala lahoo Fir'awnu inee la azunnuka yaa Moosaa mas hooraa )

101. And undoubtedly we gave nine clear signs (210), to Musa, then ask the children of Israel; when he came to them, then Firawn said to him, 'O Musa! In my opinion you have been hypnotised' (211).

 Transliteration:( Qaala laqad 'alimta maaa anzala haaa'ulaaa'i illaa Rabbus samaawaati wal ardi basaaa'ira wa innee la azun nuka yaa Fir'awnu masbooraa )

102. He said, "You know well that none sent these down except the Lord of the heavens and the earth (212), as opener of the eyes of the heart, and in my opinion, O Firawn, You are necessarily to be ruined' (213).

104. And We said to the children of Israel after him, 'dwell (216), in this land, then when the promise of the Hereafter will come, We shall bring you all rolled together (217),

107. Say you, 'Believe in it or believe in it not (221). Certainly, those who got knowledge before it was sent down do fall in prostration on their faces when it is recited to them (222).

110. Say you, 'Call upon Him saying Allah or saying The Most Affectionate (225), whichever you call upon him, all these are his good names (226), and neither offer your prayer with loud voices (227). nor with low voices and seek a way in between.
