Transliteration:( Fa ammal lazeena aamanoo billaahi wa'tasamoo bihee fasa yudkhiluhum fee rahmatim minhu wa fadlinw wa yahdeehim ilaihi Siraatam Mustaqeema )

175. So those who believe in Allah and hold His rope firmly (495), He will admit them to mercy from Himself and bounty and guide them Himself on a straight path.

Surah An-Nisa Ayat 175 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

495.The personal pronoun 'his' in the word BIHI "with His" is connected with the manifest argument eg. those who after believing in Allah Almighty hold firmly to His Rope, is the manifest Argument of Allah Almighty.

In other words he who holds firmly to the Holy Prophet is indeed worthy of being the recipient of Allah Almighty's bounty. One fallen in a well comes up by holding onto the rope. One who is secured to rope alone can come up. It should be remembered that one end of the rope will be in the hand of the one who pulls it while the other end is the hands of the one being pulled.

In the like manner the Holy Prophet's صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم one connection is with Allah Almighty and the other is with the rest of the world. Says Allah Almighty: "And hold fast all together by the rope of Allah". (S3:V103)
