Transliteration:( Wa maazaa 'alaihim law aamanoo billaahi wal Yawmil Aakhiri wa anfaqoo mimmaa razaqahumul laah; wa kaanallaahu bihim 'aleemaa )
"And what (harm) would have come upon them if they had believed in Allah and the Last Day and spent [151] out of what Allah has provided for them? And surely, Allah knows them well."
Three essential rulings arise from this verse:
Spend a portion of what Allah has given you in charity—
The use of the word "what" implies that even a small amount is acceptable if done sincerely.
Do not give away everything—
Islam encourages balanced generosity, not self-imposed deprivation.
Spend moderately, preserving your own needs and responsibilities.
Charity must be given from halal (lawfully earned) wealth—
The verse links wealth to Allah’s provision, reminding believers:
Only that which is pure and earned lawfully can be accepted in the path of Allah.
