Transliteration:( Maaa asaabaka min hasanatin faminal laahi wa maaa asaaabaka min saiyi'atin famin nafsik; wa arsalnaaka linnaasi Rasoolaa; wa kafaa billaahi Shaheedaa )
“Whatever good comes to you is from Allah [254], and whatever evil reaches you is from yourself [255]. And O beloved (Muhammad ﷺ), We have sent you as a Messenger to all mankind [256]. And Allah is sufficient as a witness (to that).”
All forms of goodness, whether in the world or the Hereafter, come directly from the grace and mercy of Allah Almighty.
He is the source of:
Sustenance
Health
Guidance
Victory
Success in both worlds
No matter what the situation, every blessing is a manifestation of His mercy.
Any trial, suffering, or misfortune that befalls a person is a result of their own wrong actions or shortcomings.
This serves as a reminder of:
Human accountability
The need for repentance
The importance of avoiding sin
So while Allah allows the consequence, the root cause lies within human behavior.
This verse complements the earlier statement in Verse 78:
“Everything is from Allah,”
by clarifying the mechanism of cause and consequence.
Here, Allah addresses His Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, confirming:
That he has been sent as a Messenger to all of humanity—not a specific tribe or nation, but universally for all times.
His message is for every person, in every land, until the Day of Judgment.
And Allah Himself is the Witness to this Prophethood—there is no greater testimony than that.
