Quran-4:26 Surah An-nisa English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( Yureedul laahu liyubai yina lakum wa yahdiyakum sunanal lazeena min qablikum wa yatooba 'alaikum; wallaahu 'Aleemun Hakeem )

26. Allah wants to make clear to you His Commandments(111) and to tell you the ways of those before you (112) and to turn to you with His Mercy. And Allah is Most Knowing, All-Wise (113).

Surah An-Nisa Ayat 26 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

111.Laws concerning lawful and unlawful wives and the considerations for marriage, Because the only difference in procreation between humans and animals is marriage. For this reason, Allah Almighty described these laws in some detail, and the Holy Prophet gave full clarification of these

112.From this, we learn that if the religious issues of the past Prophets found in the QURAN and Hadith are without any refutations they are worthy of practice for us as well. As Allah Almighty says that we had commanded you in Zaboor: "A life for a life". But those which appear with refutations they are, not to be practiced by us, as Allah Almighty says: "Then on account of the great injustice of the Yahud We made unlawful for them some of those pure things" (S4:V160).
113.Therefore accept its commands without any hesitation because all its laws are based on some wisdom.

Ibn-Kathir

26. Allah wishes to make clear (what is lawful and what is unlawful) to you, and to show you the ways of those before you, and accept your repentance, and Allah is All-Knower, All-Wise. 27. Allah wishes to accept your repentance, but those who follow their lusts, wish that you (believers) should deviate tremendously away (from the right path) 28. Allah wishes to lighten (the burden) for you; and man was created weak. ) Allah explains to the believers what He has allowed and prohibited for them in this and other Surahs,

(And to show you the ways of those before you,) meaning their righteous ways and how to adhere to the commandments that He likes and is pleased with.

(and accept your repentance) from sin and error,

(and Allah is All-Knower, All-Wise.) in His commands, decrees, actions and statements. Allah’s statement,

(but those who follow their lusts, wish that you (believers) should deviate tremendously away from the right path)) indicates that the followers of Shaytan among the Jews, Christians and the adulterous, wish that you would take the horrendous path of falsehood instead of the truth.

(Allah wishes to lighten (the burden) for you”) His legislation, orders, what He prohibits and what He decrees for you. This is why Allah has allowed free men to marry slave girls under certain conditions, as Mujahid and others have stated.

(and man was created weak.) and this is why it is suitable in his case that the commands are made easy for him, because of his weakness and feebleness. Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that Tawus said that,

(and man was created weak), “Concerning women”. Waki` said, “Man’s mind leaves when women are involved.”

(4:26) Allah wants to make all this clear to you, and to guide you to the ways which the righteous have followed in the past. He will turn graciously towards you. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.[48]

Ala-Maududi

(4:26) Allah wants to make all this clear to you, and to guide you to the ways which the righteous have followed in the past. He will turn graciously towards you. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.[48]

48. Here a general reference is made to the directives embodied in this surah, as well as those revealed earlier in Surah al-Baqarah and which deal with social and collective matters. It is stressed that these directives reveal those lasting principles observed by the Prophets and their followers from the earliest times. It is merely out of His grace and benevolence that God liberated them from their state of Ignorance (Jahiliyah) and opened to them the way of life of the righteous.
