Transliteration:( Fakaifa izaa ji'naa min kulli ummatim bishaheedinw wa ji'naabika 'alaa haaa'ulaaa 'i Shaheeda )
"Then how will it be when We bring forth a witness from every community, and We bring you as a witness against them all [154]?"
On the Day of Judgment:
Every Prophet will stand as a witness regarding the deeds of their respective nations—
both the righteous and the wrongdoers.
The Ummah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ will also bear witness over previous nations,
based on the knowledge passed to them through the Qur'an and Hadith.
However, a distinction remains:
The testimony of the Ummah will be verbal, based on reports,
While the testimony of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ will be direct and eyewitness-based.
From this, we learn:
The Holy Prophet ﷺ is divinely granted the ability to observe the actions of his entire Ummah—
past, present, and future.
Therefore, when he testifies, his account will be undeniable,
and disbelievers will not be able to object.
In contrast, those who dispute the testimony of this Ummah will ask:
“How can they testify about events they did not witness?”
This reinforces:
The unique status of the Prophet ﷺ,
And the truthfulness and completeness of his message and vision.
The tafsir of Surah Nisa verse 41 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Nisa ayat 40 which provides the complete commentary from verse 41 through 42.
(4:41) Consider, then, when We shall bring forward witnesses from every community, and will bring you (O Muhammad!) as a witness against them all.[64]
64. The Prophet of each age will stand as a witness before God against his people; he will testify that he conveyed to them the true way of life, and showed them the right outlook and the fundamentals of moral conduct revealed to him by God. The testimony of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) will be to the same effect, and the Qur’an indicates that he will stand as a witness to the period beginning with his advent as a Prophet right through to the Day of Judgement.
