Quran-6:11 Surah Al-anam English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( Qul seeroo fil ardi summan zuroo kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul mukazzibeen )

11. Please declare (O Beloved Prophet): "Travel in the land (21), then observe what the end was of those who were deniers" (22).

Surah Al-Anam Ayat 11 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

21. By 'earth' here means the earth upon which punishment had come down upon the previous people, and where signs of big localities are still evident. Also, here the command in this verse is more for persuasion. not for obligation.
22. From this it is learnt that in order to inculcate in oneself the fear of Allah one should travel to such places on which Allah's punishment has come down. Similarly if one wants to behold the places on which Allah's mercy pours, then one should travel to places in which the shrines of the pious are found which would inspire one towards obedience and reverence to Allah Almighty. It further tells us that travelling for the purpose of strengthening one's faith is a means of obtaining the Mercy of Allah.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Al-Anam verse 11 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Anam ayat 7 which provides the complete commentary from verse 7 through 11.

(6:11) Say: ‘Go about journeying the earth, and behold the end of those who gave the lie (to the Truth).’[8]

Ala-Maududi

(6:11) Say: ‘Go about journeying the earth, and behold the end of those who gave the lie (to the Truth).’[8]

8. The archaeological remains and historical records of the ancient nations testify to how they met their tragic ends through turning away from truth and honesty and stubbornly persisting in their devotion to falsehood.
