    📖 Commentary of Surah Al-An’aam – Verse 87

    "And We excelled some of their fathers, their progeny [173], and some of their brothers, and We chose them and guided them to the Straight Path [174]."

    ✅ Prophethood Was Granted to Selected Individuals Only [173]

    This verse explains that not all relatives of Prophets were granted Prophethood. The word “some” indicates selective divine elevation, where some fathers, descendants, and brothers were made Prophets, while others were not—even being disbelievers. This refutes the assumption that kinship alone grants Prophetic status; Prophethood is a divine gift, not inherited by lineage alone.

    ✅ Prophets Remain Firm on the Straight Path [174]

    Allah chose and guided His Prophets to the Straight Path, making it impossible for them to go astray. Divine guidance, once given, cannot be overturned by any power, not even by Satan. As stated in Surah Bani Isra’il (17:65), Shaytan has no control over Allah’s true servants. Just like the sun’s light cannot be extinguished, the guidance of a Prophet is unshakable.
