Transliteration:( Qul yaa qawmi' maloo 'alaa makaanatikum innee 'aamilun fasawfa ta'lamoona man takoonu lahoo 'aaqibatud daar; innahoo laa yuflihuz zaalimoon )
“Say: ‘O my people! Work according to your positions. Indeed, I am working’ [296]. Soon you will know who will have the ultimate outcome of the abode [297]. Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed.”
This statement is not a license for disbelief or sin, but a stern expression of divine wrath and warning. Similar to “Let him believe, and let him disbelieve” [18:29], it challenges the disbelievers: continue your path—but know that the outcome will reveal the truth.
Though the fate of believers and disbelievers is already known, this verse refers to its actual manifestation, either on the Day of Judgment or during worldly punishment. The wrongdoers will never succeed, and the truth will be made visible to all.
The tafsir of Surah Al-Anam verse 135 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Anam ayat 133 which provides the complete commentary from verse 133 through 135.
(6:135) Say (O Muhammad!): ‘O people! Work in your place; and I too am at work. [103] Soon you will know in whose favour the ultimate decision will be. Surely the wrong-doers will not prosper.’
103. If people prefer to ignore the Prophet’s admonition and do not recant their misconduct, they are at liberty to follow their chosen path, but they should let the Prophet (peace be on him) follow his. The ultimate results of their conduct will, in due time, become evident to all – to the Prophet (peace be on him) as well as to his opponents.
