"And He is the Supreme over His bondsmen, and He sends guardians over you [123], until when death comes to any of you, Our messengers [angels] take his soul [124], and they do not fail." [125]
Allah, though All-Powerful, has appointed angels as guardians over every individual—some monitor deeds, while others oversee one's physical well-being. This teaches that while Divine Power is absolute, Allah operates through established laws and means, and believing in both His power and His system is an essential part of faith.
This does not imply that specific regions are assigned to separate angels. The Angel of Death and his deputies take every soul across the entire world. These angels are so expansive and capable that the whole world lies within their view as clearly as a palm before the eye. Their omnipresence ensures the soul of every individual is taken precisely.
The angels never delay nor hasten in taking the soul. They are never negligent, arriving exactly at the destined moment of death. This confirms their knowledge of every person’s time, place, and nature of death—one of the five hidden keys of the unseen. If this is the level of knowledge granted to angels, then consider the immeasurable knowledge granted to the Greatest Knower among creation, Sayyidunā Muhammad ﷺ, the Emperor of Madinah.
