📖 Commentary of Surah Al-An’aam – Verse 38

"And there is no creature on earth, nor any bird that flies with its wings, but they are communities like you [76]. We have left nothing out of the Book [77]. Then, to their Lord shall they be gathered."

✅ The Distinct Status of the Prophet ﷺ [76]

This verse affirms that every creature, whether land-dwelling or airborne, exists in communities with structure and purpose—just like humans. However, it also indirectly establishes the uniqueness of the Holy Prophet ﷺ. If even animals are likened to us, then claiming the Prophet ﷺ is just like us is clearly inappropriate. His rank far exceeds that of common creation. As Allah states: “The similitude of His Light is as a niche wherein is a lamp” (Surah 24:35). If Allah’s Light cannot be equated to worldly light, how can the Light of Prophethood be compared to ordinary humanity?

✅ Divine Knowledge Preserved in the Book [77]

The word Book here refers to either the Holy Qur’an or the Lawh Mahfūz (The Preserved Tablet). It indicates that no essential knowledge has been left out—every type of divine guidance and truth has been recorded. These Books serve not only as revelations for humanity, but also as a testimony to the Prophet’s ﷺ comprehensive knowledge, as all such divine knowledge was revealed for his sake. Since Allah does not forget, the recording of knowledge serves the purpose of disclosure, not reminder—proving that this knowledge was meant to be shared with and through the Prophet ﷺ.
